You talk about "true elite pvpers".
Same goes for any game, devs make balance patches and you simply adapt to the new rules.
The same was true for DAoC when ToA arrived and gave ALOT more options in RvR (albeit the item grind was horrid), the players that could not adapt simply left.
The same will be true for D3, there'll be a "game changing" patch and the bitter veterans leave because they are so set in their own ways.
You mean, the point where you failed to stay competitive, because the cookie cutter builds you had become good with suddenly didn't work anymore? It's easy to blame game mechanics for failure, but you simply need to adapt.Guess there more then one way, but this is how diablo ii was when I played it at launch and up to 1.07 patch wich killed the game.
