I'm gobsmacked anybody would pay a couple of hundred $ for any DAoC char in 2012, let alone one of Faril's... After all I can only assume ywain is populated by the same old bottom feeders adding on everything 24/7

I'm actually surprised how populus the game was, after 2 years it seems there more people then ever :|.

Shame they are all the wrong type of player :)

Zergers and adders really. The game is in a shit state. I tried to return a couple of months ago and lasted about 3 days before I was raging again. It's just not worth the hassle.

It's never going to be the same as the first time round. 50 days played to get to 50 on my shade, and theres nothing better than getting there. Thats a real game!

A while back I was hoping the population would die down a bit, since that should* make solo and small man more fun. In the end I had to admit the game I used to love in 2005 is dead, and after hitting LE on the VW there didn't seem any point continuing...

* I'm an optimist at heart ;)

I don't mind really, I don't know anyone so they all get the same treatment.

Interesting how easy it is to give up D3, i think it has something to do with these days being a lot more better games around, while during the D2 era great games weren't that abundant.

And yes yes, i'll give you the "it's cause d3 is worse then d2" as a sidedish reason if it makes you happy :p

True, games have evolved since Diablo 1/2 came out and maybe people expect a little more.

However farming 30million gold so i can deck my toon out so i can actually attempt hardcore isn't so appealing and neither is spending £200 on the RMAH :D

Fuck you Blizzard.

I'm finding the opposite actually, I find myself just sat there wondering what I want to play and then just finding something else to do. New games seem to be excellent for a few weeks then just boring. They just don't have the longevity or replayability.

Yeah i'm having the same issues. I have tons and tons of games i haven't played through and quite a few i haven't even touched.

I played BG2 + ToB earlier this year, they've aged very well IMO.

I managed to finish Inferno (kill Diablo) on my barbarian and while I was happy I "finished" it I noticed quickly there was not much more to do. Sure, I can farm gold to play the AH-game to get upgrades to kill Champ-packs in Act3/4 better/faster/safer/easier but in the end that is hardly any motivation.

The fact Inferno is the same game as Nightmare, Hell, Normal etc etc just makes it more tedious. There is no new content, no new bosses or challenges, essentially you finish the game and there is not much replay-value in Diablo3. Without PvP and new content I doubt I will be playing much D3 anymore, at least not in the same way as most of us played D2.

Took the 14 day free thing of DAOC... Pandaland coming soon in WoW (new challenges, new content), perhaps GW2 will be fun...
