This is why Open Betas should be brought back.. not just "lol weekend beta lvl cap 15 lol hf guys"...

3-4 month long open beta with no level caps would have sorted this shit out, it happens in a load of other games too..

Hell even if they made it so you can only get in if you pay £5-10...l better than no open beta..
A 3-4 month open beta would also mean half the people wouldn't buy the game at release as they'd already "finished" it.

Blizzard are a company you know, they like money....

It's funny how people think games companies make games as a hobby or for the love of it. They make games to make money. Some of that money goes to investors and some goes to development of new games and maintenance of existing games.

£40 (or whatever people are paying) is still the best value for money for media. If you get 100 hours game play out of it, it far exists what you pay per hour for a film (or whatever)

Most of the money goes for pay really. Add to that publishing, PR, servers and whatnot and you get quite a bill to pay. One main issue players should learn is that the people who make the game are just like any player out there, with the exception that they don't think just about what's fun for them, but what works in every situation and they get paid a monthly pay and that's it. They are basically working a fulltime job to bring you freetime entertainment and they want the best possible game out there, but also have to think about all options outside "this is cool".

On an unrelated note to above; Let's say they put in a solo play option, now how long would you think it would take for people to demand one of the following;

- Joining friend games anytime with a button.
- Joining friend games at ALL.
- Using AH.
- Achievements(well...)
- Dupe/hack fixes.

It's ofcourse a pain when the servers don't work, but if you look past the server stability issue(which is to be expected), the system in place is better in many ways.

Now would i support people making their own servers, or playing offline, if those people(or characters rather) had no access to the legit games and ladders, with no support on duping, hacking and the lot? Yes. But it would take some time to implement as the whole system is built on this safer option.

This will be a final noob question, which relates back to my DiabloII play a few weeks ago.

I had the misfortune of playing DiabloII without relising that you could bind more keys to more spells, rather than just 2-3 attacks or whatever it was. This allowed you to open up a whole arsenal of keys.

But it seems to be back in DiabloIII now, and i'm unsure if you can bind more keys to more attacks.

So far, i can use left/right mouse buttons, and then 4 additional keybound attacks... So 6 in total. Is that the total amount you can use? It's a bit strange you can, when there is a huge amount of attacks to select from - Thats only from level 30.

I'm presuming that's how they're enforcing different "builds"...especially when you see that you can't change a keybind when the ability is on cooldown. What I think *would* be useful would be switchable builds so I could have a "Boss" build (lots of mobility, lots of single target) and a "Trash" build (lots of mitigation, lots of AOE).

Aye pretty much Killswitch, what they said was basically "6 skills felt right, anymore than that starts to get very imbalanced"

Well it would...if every class had every ability available all the time it would be stupid.

I would rather it was the way it is than having to respec. If you get beaten by something you can have another go with different abilities, it keeps it moving along nicely.

Oh yeah, world first hardcore 60 went to russia. Teamplay and they did farm a lot of levels before progressing, but still damn nice.

I'd like to know what made D2 that much better though, because to me it's pretty much the same in good and bad.

I'd agree and I've played D2 to death. My dad described it best as D2 with a graphics update.

I added a load of you from the battletags thread, haven't seen anyone of close enough level yet (around 41-42) but the game's awesome! it's super addictive though, I've had Battlefield 3 since October and have clocked up around 100 odd hours whereas I've already got at least 25 hours played in Diablo 3 since release :d there's a lot of playability though, I'm suprised at how awesome / different playing Nightmare through is regarding tactics etc!

Yeah sure that's why I said £10...

I suppose since they got loads of sheep following them now they don't really need to care about making a decent game any more :( sad times

It's pretty much why Path of Exile/Torchlight 2 have a good chance of being a better game than D3.. it matters a lot to them if the game is good or bad because it will effect sales a lot.. with D3 it doesn't really matter shit as people bought/will buy it solely because it's made by Blizzard and that people think it's going to be good because D2 was good..

There has been a lot of crying about balance already and PvP isn't even open yet.. going to be hilarious when PVP does open :)

If you go into options > gameplay and look in the bottom right there is something which lets you modify what spells go on what bars etc. very useful. Elective mode I think it's called.

But they have made a decent game...

Don't listen to the whinging teenagers on the forums, they throw their toys out of the pram for virtually no reason.

You haven't played it and seem to have no intention of playing it but seem to dislike it for some reason? Confusing.

Depends on what you mean "decent". If you mean decent then yep - decent it is. Far from awesome tho.

It's definitely playable but I can't see me playing this as much as I played D2 or even D1 tbfh. Both those games had the intangible thing that meant they rocked - this hasn't even hinted at having it.

The thing is.. there are a LOT of decent games out there.. I want an awesome game which will hold me for months/years not a 1 week wonder like D3 seems to be atm :(

I'm probably going to get the game when I see it around the £25 mark or if PvP comes out any time soon and it gets good reviews I'll get it then..
