If you were bored of D2 then Diablo just isnt for you D2 was the pinnacle of Diablo. Diablo 3 is an alright game but it just doesnt feel like Diablo, it has so many flaws, missing content/features and the system itself just feels like a mish mash between WoW and a generic Hack & Slash game.

If I didn't see it myself I'd still be saying "D3 is going to be amazing!" sadly now I've completely U-turned on that notion and gone more towards - Diablo 3 was possibly the most over-hyped game of all time... its still alright tho, not the worse game out there but definately not one that will last as long as Diablo 2 did.

this isnt just a case of "burning yourself out getting to 60 as fast as possible" is it ?

and old.tohtori I'm not raging.. I just dislike that you're trying to make excuses like "On the server issues; i'm not too bothered. No matter the project, things happen and then they get fixed" ....... this isn't some backstreet company project.. this is Blizzard's game and you really can not make excuses for a multi-million pound company's complete ineptitude in dealing with the entire situation.

I could list problems with D3 too, it's not perfect(durr), but i don't feel the need as the enjoyment and fun compensates for all nitpicks and issues i might have.

So.. first few hours having just hit a massif level 11 on my Monk.

- Seems a bit less explore and more a really easy 'do this, do that, go hear' game, but that should be expected.
- Monk is fucking good fun at level 9.. things go ba-ba-BOOM.
- Server issues/lag drives me insane
- It's going to be a very addictive game, I was going to switch off after whipping Skeleton King but carried on for another hour
- There any fucking way to shut your templar up? If I have to hear one more 'How do you deal with criminals in your land?' or 'We can do it!' I'll keel the bastard myself.

Overall it's great fun so far, If I was still a student I'd be playing this till 5-6am right now. Only 4 months to go, bleh.

Not at all, I admit I do get burnt out when I rush through levels in games but this is totally different if Blizzard didnt fuck up the Action RPG genre by effectively making it World of Warcraft wrapped in a generic Hack & Slash game I'd still be happy as larry. There are many reasons why I think Diablo 3 was a let down, some of which include:

- No Single player/offline mode, when I buy a game I want to play it when I want not when Blizzard want to let me
- No chat rooms
- Not being able to make your own game/name etc, was an easy way of getting trades off the ground making a game like "WTT Enigma for ZODs" - example.
- No real community apart from the official d3 forums which is full of trolls and kids that havent played a diablo game before d3
- Playing d3 just gets repetitive fast, enrage timers? phases? MMO much?

and thats not even half of the reasons, there are many more trust me

There are plenty of ways to chat .. you can chat to your friends in game .. etc etc .. why make another way to chat when the interweb is full of them.

Sure.. I totally understand that stance if it's a small little indie company or something similar and they are charging £10 for a game.. but Blizzard/EA/Activision are making millions of pounds of profit per year... I really doubt they are that worried about piracy that much..

And frankly if a company with millions and millions of pounds at their disposal fucks up with a game on such a huge scale like Blizzard did with Diablo3 then that game deserves to be the most pirated game ever... maybe it will teach the fuckers a lesson....

The game will be fully cracked by mid June... then watch how many people pirate it

how can you fully crack something that needs to be authed on a server .... you can crack it so you can play the single player without signing in .. but thats not fully hacked ... imo

And by june is good going in this industry as most have been cracked before they even come out even steam releases.

If everyone pirated and didnt buy there would be no millions in profit ....

As to how they fucked up the game .. you base that in the whiners on the forums ... only the unhappy people post on forums .. play the game and come back with your own opinion not the blended jizz from 1000 disappointed fan boys on the forums.

I am happy with the game and i am sure there are many more like me out there .. if everyoen who bought the game posted about how they hated it .. the blizzard servers would be having a ddos from natural means .

I know quite a few people who were looking forward to D3 and can't play it because they don't have a stable internet connection.. so they are just waiting for it to be cracked and are not going to buy it.. I imagine there are quite a few people out there doing the same.

Nowadays you don't need to play a game to get a judgement on if you're going to like it or not... there are so many high quality streams for every game that you can watch them for a few hours and you feel like you know the game..

I don't think the thing about steam releases it true, I dunno.. but FM12 took about 6-8 weeks to be cracked and that's one of the most popular games out there...

One thing that is tricky for blizzard, is if there is a major fuck up, like what happened on release day/the following few days. There is nothing they can do to compensate the playerbase, is there? Unless they add free dlc as a apology or something along those lines.

Sorry Bloodomen but I think you have just put an insane amount of time into this game already probably close to 90 hours? More? I think on what is basically a hack n slash game is just too much and I think your at that point now where you are just burnt out.

The launch has been pretty shit but apart from that its the best £25 I've spent in a long time, imo take a break for a day.

It wasn't any cheaper than £25 though was it? :S that was pre-order price too they increased the price as soon as the game came out to like £32 I think.. :s
