I no longer care for any Top Gear in any format. I don't miss it at all.

See the professionally offended are being offended again. What a load of fuss about nothing. Its not like they crashed into the Cenotaph or anything.

...or that they had council and probably police permission.

Load of fuss about nothing. If they'd shat on the Cenotaph I'd be happily stringing them up but they arranged with Westminster council access to race around the roads when closed off. Those roads include bits near the Cenotaph. So what? No-one drove round and round it shouting "Fuck the veterans!!"

/edit: Even so, it still sounds like shit TV.

I think the TV news put it way to high in terms of news priority, such as in front of the bombing in Turkey. I do however think it was wrong in that area and the council has claimed they didn't know about that aspect of it.

It's no more wrong than allowing general traffic to drive past the Cenotaph.

I don't think you find many cars allowed to do donuts on the road let alone near the Cenotaph, I guess what gets me is besides being made a top news story is that none of the TG team thought it might be a bad idea.

Publicity stunt, maybe not the original intention, but remove the segment...shock horror, viewers demand to see it etc..etc.

The road was closed so I'm not sure what problem donuts cause.

I wonder, are hats banned near the Cenotaph? What about horns, is it a fine for beeping one's horn? Or laughing, are people not allowed to laugh near the Cenotaph?

It's ridiculous. In the photograph in question the car is at least 60-70 metres from the Cenotaph anyway. Is there an exclusion zone we should be aware of?

Just to rehash what I stated earlier about what the council claimed - Top Gear 'Didn't Have Permission' To Do Cenotaph Stunt, Westminster Council Says - using something and how you use it are entirely different, perhaps I should do a ridiculous comparison just to prove it.

In the end they just shouldn't of done it, it was always going to create controversy, not exactly TG needed right now from a BBC stand point.

Just sad they're capitulating to the permanently offended twitter crowd already.

If a family member of mine was honoured by the cenotaph, I'd be delighted to see it as part of the action.

we've got two top gears now and I couldn't be happier, both will have crap bits, both will nail it.
Original Topgear has the advantage of an experienced crew, who know how to do the visuals.
Just playit as Joey Matt, and all will be happy.

You kept that quiet, 0 -150 of MP4 is 14 seconds, that's only 2 seconds slower than my ZX12, the Atom isn't losing an inch on that track.
When I get it turboed though...which is probably never.

I've always loved the Atom, but when I first saw the Nomad I struggled to see the point. Rich Arabs I suppose.

It was quite a day, the road out there is stunning. Great driving roads.

FYI the Aston sucked.

Shouldn't this thread be re-named? It's ever so slightly irking me for some time.

A Ferrari 250 GT TdF! An Aston Vulcan! Blackpool! Rain! - New Top Gear Teaser

Yup, no sign of the words 'Top', 'Gear' or 'Teaser' in there at all. No Siree, Bob.

So they've come up with a name for the new show, it's going to be called "The Grand Tour" and the reasoning behind the name is because each episode will be hosted in a different country.
