Tbh I would be happy to watch Clarkson Hammond and May throw potatoes at each other in a crowded cafe, the car reviews are irrelevant to me.

Le Blanc was OK on the Nomad bit but utterly wooden elsewhere and Evans was just dire.
I'm giving LeBlanc the benefit of the doubt because I don't know how much "live" stuff he's done before and he's great in Episodes but Evans was insufferable.

Thought it was OK for a first stab. Hopefully Evans will calm down a bit.

He seemed rather too insistent on getting the crowd to react to things.

Extragear was dire...nothing more than celebrity jungle after show, talking about cars.

Thought it was shit. The presenters were trying too hard and came across as desperate. Hopefully Clarkson delivers later on in the year.

Top Gear = BBC2 shite

Well, BBC are apparently considering pulling the plug on Top Gear after its ratings, it had the lowest ratings in a decade of Top Gear.

Won't happen. Top Gear is worth loads to them. The homegrown market on the other hand might sway them. This incarnation of Top Gear is seriously fucking shit and I won't be watching it again.

Don't blame you, Chris Evans is just trying to be Jeremy Clarkson... and failing miserably at it. He was swearing at the crowd as well apparently for not laughing at his jokes, twat that he is.

He is a cunt. Should stick to radio or Channel 4.

That's the thing. His radio and TV personas are compeltely different. I was hoping we'd get more "Radio 2 Chris Evans" than "early TFI Friday Chris Evans" but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Even star trek the next generation had a shaky start.

It ain't never going to be old top gear with Clarkson - but then what is?

I think it'll be watchable pap in the mid run. This season is gonna be a bit hard tho...

Still not bothered watching it yet.
That's nothing new. I'd got that way with old top gear.

They were rehasing shite a lot of the time. Pretty much only the epics were worth watching and sometimes they were painfully bad too.

I never used to make a point of sitting down to watch the old one, and never recorded it. If it was on then id watch it, but it became a bit some old same old tbh

You could always rely on TG to at least raise a chuckle, even if it was only when they were doing the news section. This...it's "watch through your fingers" level of cringeworthy. Every single bit that Chris Evans was in was awful (and I'm not a Chris Evans hater), compounded by the fact that Matt LeBlanc isn't a presenter; that's just painfully obvious. But the worst thing is the lack of chemistry (let's face it, they really don't like each other), because that's what old TG was all about, and it's the one thing they simply won't be able to fix here without a change of personnel

I were going to write a bit about how the old crew were gaffing around, taking shots at each other, but then i googled gaffing, and.. yeah.

Off topic; Does DaGaffer roughly translate to AssMan, AnalMan, Thefunguy?

I thought it was OK for a first go, stole the entire format of course, but Jeremy did sell it so he can"t complain.
I'll watch it and the real TG...though watching the original team will be like pulling on an old pair of slippers in front of the fire.

How "in advance" are they filming this new one? I don't know if they've got a chance to make any changes because the first one was so poorly received but I'm expecting more of the same.

They film the studio stuff on a Thursday, as Evans has Thursday's off his radio 2 show atm. they are a week ahaed, so tonight's would have been filmed last Thursday, not the Thursday just gone

I'll have to watch last weeks, I turned it off after 20 minutes or so because it was so bad. I'll watch it for the sake of 'science' along with tonight's too. I wish Evans would just fuck off back to radio though, he's terrible with TV stuff.

15 mins in, tempted to turn it off.

Trying too hard and intentionally got a new car to top the top cars.

Actually thought that was a lot better. Less studio stuff, and I was actually interested in the cars on the SA trip (I fancy getting an F-Pace) and the McLaren test was good as well.

It was better but I still wanted to stab Evans in the face whenever I saw him.
