I don't ignore people on the forum, I just use my brain to semi ignore silly comments etc.

It will be fine. Chill out. NO ONE is irreplaceable. This is my equivalent to a new Dr Who.:sneaky:

Nah Dr who is designed to change each time but the plots etc are still written by the same people. This would have to be almost a whole different show without the three of them.

Don't think so. They will try to carry on with the TG brand, but it will have to be a completely different type of format. If they try to replicate the existing formula it will fail. Case in point, all the international versions of TG which simply don't really work.

It was the BBC's flagship program and they want to replace it with a steaming turd and you can bet your house that they will introduce a panel of judges with celebrity drivers.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they try to remake it with other presenters, it tanks, and JC is asked to come back at some stage.

The Reliant episode, there is at least a residue of humanity deep in the bowels of the Beeb.

It's coming out that the whole crew turned on Clarkson, I guess when the entire production team think you have gone too far then something major has to happen.
I just can't see the show working anywhere but the BBC...it's just so sad.

But I'm pretty sure you'd still support Clarkson against those lefties because they're all wrong, and he's right, right?

Yes, because Cohen was gagging to fire him and Clarkson went to him cap in hand and he escalated it straight away..knowing it would kill the show.
I don't think having an agenda in itself is wrong, but I can still slate someone for having one, it's their call.

Or maybe they thought fuck, this guy, can't deal with him anymore the shit he gets away with is going to get us seriously hurt (look at Argentina.)

I don't blame them.

Top gear ran 2 years before clarkson joined in '88 and may only joined in '99 and was recieved poorly. Hammond joined in 2002.

So the whole "Won't work without the three!" falls rather flat on its face. The show will be fine.

Er, no, point is that it was nothing until they joined

Did you even watch it back then? It was a *completely* different show. It was going to be cancelled before Clarkson put forward a pitch for the new format.

Also, May started after Hammond.

In the new format, he was there before. Get your facts straight before you try to be cute.

It may have been a different program, but it still ran for a hell of a long time and the new format worked without the trio as well. So, again, it'll be fine.

Will it be the same? F*ck no. Will it be "as good"? No idea. But it'll be fine.

A different program that was going to be cancelled before Clarkson reinvigorated it. Saying "Clarkson joined in '88" is worthless as they are two totally different shows.

The new format existed for exactly one year before the "trio" was established so it's difficult for you to say it "worked" (indeed it apparently didn't work because May replaced the original third presenter in 2003).

It's not worthless though, top gear wouldn't exist without the original. The popularity and longevity of the original non-trio show is the reason it could even be relaunched.

And claiming the first year of top gear was sh*t is just ridicilous as TV doesn't work like that. It would've been canned before if it didn't work. It's more likely by all evidence that it did work.

Well i don't honestly give a f*ck, just thought i'd squash some of the fanboiiiiiii stupidity.
Because you have no knowledge of the subject at hand, you looked up some shit on the internet (irrelevant start dates for the presenters) and then you barge in with your ill-formed opinion. It's lucky I'm sitting down otherwise I don't know how I'd cope with the shock of this completely new experience.
