I don't see what they could have done differently.

Clarkson assaulted someone, they suspended him, made an announcement, gathered evidence, sacked him (correctly).

They did this knowing that it was going to cost them Top Gear. They didn't want to - but they did the right thing.


I think the Beeb is getting a panning from the public when this is entirely Clarkson's fault for being a diva cunt.

Its taken them the best part of 3 weeks to decide if a man punched another man, I think everyone agrees that the reason for the punch is irrelevant. Meanwhile allowing the twatarati to get themselves into a heated cloud of indignation.

It could and should have been dealt with in a matter of days.

Yes but the daily mail isn't a poster on this forum where missing comments break up the flow.

To be honest, you should read things you don't agree with. My main source of news is the Guardian despite the fact it often winds me the fuck up. You shouldn't just seek reinforcement of the opinions you already have.

I simply dislike the way people do put others on ignore, as in, they don't. They might peek at other peoples posts, take jabs at them out of their secure ignorebunker etc.

If you ignore someone, you don't acknowledge their existence or you're not ignoring them

One of those posted something that you also posted. I'd say either that means you're putting yourself in the same boat you put them in, or they can sometimes post things you would agree with.
Either way, personally, I'd rather just ignore the comment than the person. Sometimes people I like very much come out with something really dumb every now and then, and sometimes people I despise can say something decent. I can accept that people can say things and that I don't have to agree or acknowledge that, so for the sake of making everything else easier when there's no disagreement, I just leave any disagreement be, once all that needs to be said has been.
