Ring is an acquired taste. It is a very scary film IMHO but scary in the way that Blair Witch was. My cousin was so scared after watching it he actually gave the DVD away!!

Worth a rental at least.

Ring 2 is more of the same. Ring 0 I have not seen yet.

The only Japanese horror film I have which I have been too frightened to even watch is Audition. I bought it, quickly looked at the piano wire scene and bottled out of watching it!!

Oh, and the Yanks have got a hold of The Ring.

It's being remade by Hollywood and released sometime this year.

If you have a Region 2 only DVD player then www.play.com are cheap.

If you have a multiregion DVD player (and a modern TV) then I would always recommend going for Region 3 (or Hong Kong) DVDs because they are far far cheaper.

All you have to do is ensure that they have English subtitles and you're away!!
