Oh come on evil mods, you could've got rid of Raven's post too. I'm not a bot and if I was, I'd be a bloody good one. :<

It's lol that I was actually helping Raven in my post.

Is there any Android-based simulation games out there? I'm thinking Theme Hospital, Civilisation, SimCity type games.

Don't update Google maps, some very negative reviews on the wide ranging changes they've made.

Can anyone recommend a decent music player for Android please?
I used to have my music on my iPhone and there was no problems. I now have an S4 and when a drum and bass album is playing (this happens on all types of music but it's more noticeable on D&B due to the tracks being mixed in) it gets to the end of the song, then there is a 0.5 second pause before the next song plays. I originally thought this was because the music was on my SD card, but after moving it onto the device the problem remains.

I do not know if this is because the stock Music player is shit, or something else? I originally had the music in m4a format. When copying to the device is asks if I want to convert them (into WMA). I have tried both and the problem remains.

I'm quite lazy, I just use Winamp tbh, even though it can't seem to repeat a playlist. I have Poweramp installed as well but it burns through my battery like a motherfucker.

So if anybody else has better suggests (must support FLAC) I'm all ears.

Google play. Also the stock player on Samsung phones supports flac.

There should be a setting for how the player supports mixes so you don't get a pause, maybe google it.

I completely agree, the new Maps is fucking shite. They're trying to make the same changes to the web interface too. Gone are "my places" (I use that all the time), measuring tools, etc. You can't even star an arbitrary location, say, a walking trail in the middle of a national park. It has to be near a business or similar.

You can, however, uninstall all upgrades and revert to the phone's stock Maps app. I recommend everyone does that - while leaving a 1 star review on Google Play.

The loss of my places is linked to Google killing off latitude, and trying to force you to use Google+. I wish they'd stop trying to force plus down everyone's throats. This is going to force lots of people to alternative mapping solutions.

I never use Google Talk any more but they seem to have mashed that up into Hangouts now. Talk was a nice simple IM app, now it looks bloated and shit. :(

I've learned that if you like an app as it now stands, the chances are that an update will fuck it.
Back everything up with Titanium Backup Pro and you can just revert to the version you like
Still running an old version of Google Maps and zero complaints

finding airdroid really useful, thanks whoever posted about it on here. recently an update made it so you scan a smart barcode with your phones camera which comes up on your computer monitor/whatever you're connecting to. feel so sci fi when the monitor changes as it confirms the barcode
