Can someone recommend a nice music player app?

I want it simple, free of clutter, a clean beautiful interface, that plays and lists tracks in the order they are on the CD, not alphabetical as most of the players I've checked out are.

Best one I've seen is Double Twist but they want £9 for the "pro" version that shows album art! No thanks

Any suggestions?

Oh, AppSales is pretty nifty btw. Lets you monitor stuff to see if it has changed price recently and lets you know about free stuff.

Forum Runner on the Hudl is a hell of a lot better than the Chrome or Dolphin browser. Both are slow and unresponsive on it.

I tried the chrome one and wasn't overly pleased with it. There is an official microsoft one - RD client. Works perfectly after a bit of setting up...though a bit of sound lag sometimes.

4.4.2 seems to be coming to an everything near you at the moment. Maybe google have relaxed the update process requirements?

As was my Note 3. I think he's saying that Samsung leave the older models behind.

I got this too, and I must admit it is rather nice. Seems to have fixed my wonky GPS as well. Only issue with it I've found is Google Play Services keeps chewing my battery, although this is the same on my Xperia SP running 4.3, so I suspect Google have either broken something or are updating something in Google Now.

Sony, to be fair, have been pretty decent with updates recently, guaranteeing pretty much all handsets at least 18 months of Android upgrades. The Z has fallen into the second tier now (behind the Z2 and Z1), although from what I can tell, it means the Z2 and Z1 owners are beta testing new firmware for us. Which is jolly nice of them!

Google have broken something, my battery drain was ridiculous, couldn't even get a full charge! I uninstalled Google play services which reverted the factory version. All my Google apps still work but my battery life is back normal. It's a known issue with the latest Google play services update, it keeps the phone awake even when screen is off locked for location and "ok Google". This affects all handsets btw not just Sony.

Tell a lie, it stop's Google now from working without the latest version. Still I'd rather have my phone work for more than half a day. Had grown accustomed to Google now though, so I hope Google fix this issue soon.

So it also stopped Google account apps from syncing. So I've re installed it, and followed the advice found in the web to disable location, reboot, enable, agree to Google terms, reboot. Had my phone locked for a while just now and checked the battery usage monitor and it seems better. Really hope Google fix this properly soon. Might have to go back to 4.3 otherwise.

Don't suppose you've got any further with this have you? My battery life for the last week has been shocking. I thought I had cracked it by turning off Google Location Reporting Services, until this morning I watched it go from 100% to 92% whilst still plugged in. What's doubly confusing is that my Xperia SP on 4.3 is doing the same thing (although nowhere near as bad), as is a colleagues Nexus 5, yet the OH's Z1 Compact is fine (she uses Google Now as well).

Hi @Bodhi, yes the fix I posted worked for me.

I've read a few other sites that suggest s full battery power cycle flat and then full charge also fix it. Good luck, it was a very frustrating issue.

I think I've just caught my Galaxy S3 running SlimBean (yes, no KitKat) doing this. Certainly I shouldn't have been down at 39% and Google Play Services was the lead power user, followed by Android OS. Trying the fix now....

Both fixes have worked for me....briefly. The cache clearing method made things behave until I got to the pub around half 8, then Google woke up and started slurping battery again. I've re cleared it and it's behaving again, we'll see how long for. Bloody annoying however.

Yeah, it does seem more related to Google (Play) Services having an update that's chewing battery rather than a particular version of the OS itself. I'll see how mine fares tomorrow, it's on charge for the night now anyway.
