tbh think the best thing i can do atm is cancel the CE too and go US, ina few days hear of how M.Jacobs kicked GOA a new one and either tears up the contract and manages to run the EU servers properly from the US or GOA get a new CEO etc and sort themselves out... but ill still be sitting happily on US

To be fair this mess was pretty predictable, a lot of people were saying it was crazy to leave account registration until the last minute. That should have been available two or three days ago then it would have been an orderly process with time to resolve any issues rather than the last minute rush with overloading of the entire system from image verification through email confirmation to beta key registration.

Also predictable was the lack of developer posts on most of the "unofficial official" boards once the heat was on. At times like this the lack of an official board is most noticeable (and regrettable).

Yeah it was the refusal of GOA to man up to the issues, to even close their forums because of all the honest criticism levelled at them (yeah run away and hide works so well doesn't it?), that finished them so fast for me with DAoC.

Well they're ahead of the game with WAR, it doesn't look like they are going to be getting any of my money at all this time, but they do have until Friday to get their shit together for a change.

After that, Mythic here i come.

tbh i dont care if they don't want to make the post. this is there fault for leaving it to the last minute and by ignoring it and hoping it will go away all they have succeeded in doing is elevating peoples frustrations at being left in the dark.

Yeah you know what an apology might actually go down well at this moment in time on their website.

Tell us what is actually wrong and how long they expect until it is fixed.

It isn't that hard to communicate but GOA don't do that with bad news do they?

It is plainly obvious that their systems have only just been put in place this week and and they have been working overtime to try and get things ready in place.

If their shit was ready 2 weeks ago they would have let people sign up and activate their accounts in plenty of time because at the end of the day EVERYONE except the blatant fanbois were saying it will be a disaster to release it today.

Then to dangle the carrot further in our face they have the cheek to put on their website that we can now enter our codes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously the fanbois have been yelling for ages that GOA have changed they are organised and they have learned from their DAOC mistakes and are ready to give us a great game.

Chances are if you try to log in, you will get the message your account has been suspended.

Meaning you probably wont get an email through for some time, if at all.

it's called "customer service" chump, they obviously expecy us to still pay them to play when it goes live, which personally i am getting less and less likely to be doing.

I have already told the 30+ mates i was planning to play with that if i can't get in by tomorrow evening and there is no sign of GOA talking to their customers and giving me any confidence that the live launch won't also be hopelessly botched, we shoud all move to the Us servers.

truth is i'm not paying for this lack of service, if it doesn't improve i think many other gamers will think the same. It'll be easy enough to order the US game online and get the CD key e-mailed, tons of retailers offer that service.

It is a GOA problem regardless, because they left things like this for the same day as beta should launch.
No matter how it is spun - it is terrible planning and nobody could claim otherwise. And the "on schedule" and "our servers handle more traffic" and "no problems what so ever" type answers only further underline that.

Even if they wanted to stress test account center and creation - there was absolutely no reason to leave account creation to last day, what so ever. From a logical point of view at least....
