A brief synopsis so far based on the offical postings on war-europe.com:
Sept 6
announcement that AC would be online at 08:30 tomorrow
Sept 7
08:30 AC goes online
08:31(ish) AC throws a fit
09:00 AC constantly going up and down
11:00 informed that AC was now online - except it wasnt
14:00 patch available - but only to those who have managed to circumvent ALL the issues
16:00 informed that they have a technical problem with the AC but were working on it
16:30 OB servers open - a whole 5000 playing
16:30 AC AND registration servers offline - as if we didnt know
16:30 - 02:00 no news - no change in scenario
Sept 8
02:00 informed of state beta - nothing new most of us are in bed anyway
03:00 letter from CEO - nice to know he's around
11:00 informed about what has gone wrong yesterday
11:30 informed of server issues
15:00 informed of authentication key update
16:00 informed key validation now online - except it wasnt
16:00 to present (20:54) no information given

There are some really glaringly obvious gaps of communication here.

Has anyone found a way past code 303 errors when trying to activate the link in the first confirmation email please?

Some offtopic here, i've been reading both, the gamers reactions on this EU Open Beta, and the community managers responses, and i think the Community Managers or GOA is still missing the point on informing the gamers about what's going on. I don't think posting to some "random" threads on couple of forums will do the trick, especially because nothing appears on the news at the official WAR-Europe -site. Ofcourse people will be frustrated 'cause the Open Beta isn't running as it was supposed to at this time, and still nobody really tells them what is wrong and what's done about it.

And back to the topic, about 5 hours and no email ^__^

key validation is online - people are getting through and into the game - it's not exactly superfast though which is far from ideal.

It's also far from terrible as well. People ARE getting in, which is more than can be said for yesterday after that initial 5000. Lucky so-and-sos. ._.

We should march down to Microsoft HQ in the South-West (assuming there is one) and complain loudly or at least stand there with arms folded and look disapproving. *nods sagely*

Erm, no, it's terrible. Less terrible than yesterday, but still absolutely inadequate. It's just one ballsup after another.

I think you misunderstand something
It is very possible to get a realistic test without it being on the same day as open beta servers should go up.
Had they taken a more realistic approach, they would have split the two 'tests'

Assuming what will be tested is: A massive onrush of new players that have to
register new accounts and validate key codes.
The things you want to know is how well the software, hardware, configuration and staff
cope with that situation. And without running it as a simulation.

To split or spread the registrations over several days does not reflect
the situation that will occur at release or head start.
Or am I just in an early stage of dementia?

now that's the stylish way to complain, only substitute Microsoft with GOA

It appears he's giving more updates on the warhammer alliance forum than the main page or here - last one was at 21:20 (8:20) update in bold.

Q: How long before the confirmation emails arrive?
A: This will depend but the current turn around seems to vary between 1 and 2 hours, it is possible that some people will be waiting for longer whilst others will get a reply sooner. If you haven't received an email yet, be sure to check your junkmail folders or spam filters. There is currently a substantial back-log on our system. Our technicians are working very hard to have your confirmations sent out.
