To be honest I'm surprised it's not 100%. Suicide is a sin for christians, Buddhists and Hindus. The only other people I can think of with a traditional of honourable suicide are the Japanese.

There's a long history of suicide attacks, going all the way back to Roman times (that Jewish suicide squad in Life of Brian? Actually a real thing), but the Japanese were the first to use it strategically.
