How do you watch 3000 people all the time? There are 172,000 cops in the whole country. Watching 3000, lets say 2 cops per person, 3 eight hour shifts, that's 18,000 cops, over 10% of your workforce, gone. And can you even genuinely watch someone all the time anyway?
Also they technically havent done anything wrong until they have participated or helped in an attack of some sort

Otherwise we just have to have thought police or detention centres.

As a start. (And just a start - not a well-thought-out start - just a "off the top of my head" start mind you):

For the people here:
A) You realise some of these are going to be utterly innocent and it's a real injustice to trash the lives of the innocent. So engage with them openly and honestly and leave them with nothing to point at.
B) You realise the ones that may act are most likely swivel-eye'd loons and there's little you can do apart from try to engage with them from, say, a well-funded mental health approach.

For here and everywhere else:
C) You make sure your country acts in a way that undermines the arguments that radicals use to recruit jihadis and undermines their "justifications"
D) You increase the foreign aid budget for the countries where there are power vaccums and desparate situations. Countries who's governments we've played a part in trashing by military methods. And by foreign aid - aid that doesn't come in the form of heavy munitions or armining militias. Perhaps even attempt to repair the damage we've done and commit to long term assistance to bring about real democratic self-rule (rather than puppet government).
E) Realise that even if you do that, it's going to be decades before the threats we now face will start to receed - so we have to preserve the liberties we have, the way of life that threatens extremist ideologies and not cave in to the demands of the weak and fearful in our society. We don't "give up liberty for security".

And: F) Realise that even if we lost 200 people a year in the UK to terrorism it'd be a drop in the water compared to the other crimes that occur in a country of 65 million and it doesn't warrant turning ourselves facist.

In short, an unworkable and logistical nightmare.

I openly discussed these points on Saturday night and was amazed at the "deport them all! Put them back to where they came from!" (As per @Raven 's post re racism in the other thread) and "why aren't we arresting them!?".

I just quoted the stats on the number of Americans that are killed each year by falling out of bed and suggested we ban the sale of beds (much like your point @Scouse that it's a drop in the ocean re casualties).

There are clearly fucked people about, that cunt Choudary, took years to fuck him and even then we basically let him off. He isn't mental like most of them, he knew exactly what he was doing, and still does. Lock them up, 24 hours a day, no contact with others, not even guards. Edit, for clarity, the quite obviously barking people.

There was this guy walking around Northampton calling for gays to be thrown off tall buildings. He would be welcome to think that in his nice 6 by 8 cell.

Yet again scouse, you are conveniently ignoring the fact that its only a few hundred because we are at a critical level of security, with wartime levels of intrusion into our daily lives, our cities are being rebuilt as fortresses, armed police patrol the streets, now its talk of internet scrutiny...we all ready are a police state.
You seem happy to to accept that as the norm, and you will go on accepting on one hand while posting on here about civil liberties, which are under threat from the endless march towards total lockdown.

Tbh if he isnt doing it but is thinking it. I would defend his right to say it. I dont agree with it. But in the uk our free speech isnt free any more if you offend someone or something. Unlike in the usa.

wow wow wow, let me stop you right there - no where in the posts above did I say I PERSONALLY wanted to nuke anyone, what I did say is I can see someone like Putin doing so if he knows for an absolute certainty ISIS have dirty bombs. Please get your facts right @TdC

I stand corrected then. Though make no mistake, nuking some country is not an option. Using a nuclear weapon on anything at all is not an option. Putin may be many things, but unlike his orange minion he's not an idiot.

I'm not certain you understand what a police state is. Can you describe those times in the last month when an armed officer had cause to stop you from going about your daily business, or when you had to go through a check point to enter a UK city?

30 officers a day to watch one person is the estimate I've heard.

One of them was on TV last year about extremist living in the country. Makes you think what more evidence do they need to actually do something? To damn late once they've blown the place up.

How praying to an ISIS flag in a major London park is OK ill never understand. Should be insta prison sentance/deportation imo

They want 100% control on the internet now to crack down on terrorism. This cunt was on TV last year and they did fuck all.

I'm speechless tbh

"Them" would suggest you think he agrees with their views, "it" would point to you thinking he believes in free speech.

It's great that we allow people to do that. It means that they show themselves to be who they are in full view of everyone.

It's not free speech's fault that plod is so dumb that they didn't bother to pick the fuckers up.

Praying to anything should not be an automatic prison scentence. You have to do more than just sympathise with a cause to break a law here.

Wait, did i just read that right? You support being able to pray to an ISIS flag in a public place just to be politically correct? Pray to some holy book or figure sure, no problem. Top terrorist organisation in the world? don't think so.

What do you deem acceptable behaviour before the line has been crossed? Get caught red handed 30 seconds before he blows him self up even though all the warning signs we're there. Like in this case

Not under Nazi May's rule. She's already been talking about effectively bringing in thought crime.

So you put them in a detention camp for what?

Prove they are plotting to do something then charge them.

Amount of times i thought i could kill someone cause they pissed me off is just the same as them thinking it unless they start to put it into practice.

To arrest someone for praying to an isis flag is the same as the catholics getting persecuted in the disolution of the monasteries. Cant stop people for believing in Something just cause you dont like it.

I actually think Diane Abbot is a cunning labour plan to show that they're happy to give jobs to people with severe mental disabilities.

She's looking absolutely awful at the moment (not that she ever looked good) - but really bad. Like there's something going on.
