Glad to see us (Nederland) go trough to the final 8, was definitely a nail biter and probably not a good one for the heart. Have to say the win goes to Van Gaal, being able to let your team carry out three different play styles is very difficult. Especially taking in the relative short amount of time a national-team coach gets to have with it's players.
Mexico outplayed us Dutchies in the first half, even though the Dutch setup welcomes this I cannot believe it's meant to absorb this amount of pressure without poking back. The Mexican goal was really beautiful, maybe a bit too soon though as the Mexicans leaned back after and let the Dutch attack and even redo their tactics two times!
Sneijders goal, what a rocket and what a relief! (Although I might have Oranje glasses on, I think the draw was well deserved). The penalty... I think it's a foul, and is then by rule a penalty. Did Robben dive? Well he probably did but then again, if referees would whistle for a penalty kick when players try to continue after a charge but fail to succeed then players wouldn't need to dive. Imo he should've gotten one in the first half. Good penalty by the Hunt.
What would've happen in extra time if the Dutch didn't get awarded with a penalty nobody knows but if asked to make a guess I'd guess we would've taken it either way.

Is it me or has African football gone backwards over the last 10 years? Produce more decent individuals now, but just don't gel as teams.
I think Nigeria could have played France for 90 hours and they still wouldn't have scored. Decision making and final ball just so inconsistent.
