I can't get the download link to go to my toolbar so that I can get Win 10. I have Win 7 Sp1 (definitely), and I've tried the links on the Microsoft website. Any ideas anyone?

Make sure you've installed *all* the windows updates that are available. I think the get windows 10 app is an update you have to select...

What version are you running? Enterprise versions are not included in the upgrade, unless they have changed that recently?

Done it all, no difference.

Oddly though, the GWX file is in my System 32 folder

The thing I posted earlier worked on the machine I'm typing on weeks ago...

And googling solutions is a good way to figure stuff out? Do you expect people to magic answers out of their arse?

Actually Scouse and his mongy tagging of me in this thread is useful. I have the same problem as throdlord so I shall try the fix suggested.

Oh, who gives a fuck if it was googled, I googled this problem and didn't find that fix. I just found loads of images of @caLLous hanging out the back of a garlic.

In answer, yes I have up-to-date SP1 Win 7, and my laptop has the icon for an update, and so does my son's PC. Just my own fucking PC doesn't. Also, as I said before, the folder GWX (as in "Get Windows 10" ) is on my System32, and has 3 or 4 .exes in it, however nought is happening :/

I don't understand. Are people just trying to get the update notification to appear or to get the actual win10 installation files?

As far as I know, you can't update to Win 10 without the update notification. Not simply anyway. As I said, I have the GWX folder on my System32 folder, so it's downloaded something, but I can't activate it, if that's the right term.

you sure it wasn't a bunch of garlic hanging out of the back of a @caLLous ? seems much more likely!

OT: just FYI, I've had the little notification windows sign on three different computers guys, but it certainly did not happen all at the same time. I've reserved one copy for my games rig, and cba about the others. W10 will be free after the 29th anyway, so why worry?
