I most certainly have not!

I must say that out of my PC, Psx and Dreamcast I find myself spending 90% of my gaming time on the PC (either GP3 or CS at the mo).

The other 10% is Virtua Tennis ...Top game that.

Cannot see myself bothering with Psx2 until maybe Metal Gear 2.

You guys ordering one??

I am never going to get a PS2.
I really cant see the point. The original didnt have *bad* games, but most of the better ones canme out on PC as well (eg Driver). And anyway, the controllers are the same as the originals, and I really dont like the idea of crippling my hands more than they already are.

XBox - mmmmmm.... looks really good, cause PC developers (eg Sports Interactive = CM3,4,5 :)) are commiting to it.
And the rumur about digital video is rather tasty too.
however, we'll have to see. I've never had a lot of time for consoles. tho I vow not to buy to nintendo ever - "Goldeneye - revolutionary game, the first of its kind ever, the greatest most original game ever made" - FFS, its quake with bond, played with a GAMEPAD!!

I remember my first console machine, Atari 2600 and it was fun but the graphics often were formed by sticking different blocks together with the basic rainbow colours.

The C64 wasn't really a True console machine though. I also had a Acorn, Nes, Megadrive, Gameboy, Super Nes, Saturn, N64 and another Gameboy.

I started getting annoyed with consoles after the ill fated Super Nes add on CD drive never happened and after that plans for the N64 were slowly being released which was the true reason for the CD add on being canned.

However while the Super Nes, I got it on the day it was released including all 4 games, was a great machine and a bit more powerful than the Megadrive I regret selling my MD since it had some of the best games and shit loads of them. One of my all time favs was Road Rash which I just couldn't help but play hour after hour.

Although the PS seemed good I could never stop playing the Streetfighter series of games, best fighting games, which seem to be better on the Saturn any way. I also loved MaxxTT and decided that I didn't want to sell my Saturn for a PS.

I got the N64 and was happy to see that games would be tightly controlled so that the quality remained high, but in no time at all the N64 was running short of games and the flood gates openned with all kinds of shit flooding through.

I currently own the Saturn and a Gameboy, the reason I've still got the Saturn is because me and the rest of the family enjoy playing Bomberman, Saturn has the best version of bomberman out of all the ones before and after.

I might buy the DC because its gonna be cheap and Sega are set to have a good christmas picking up the loads of people who can't get a PS2. They are going to release a DVD drive for the DC and also something else which hasn't been specified, but its gonna give the PS2 a shock.

Come to think of it, the PSX2 does nothing a decent PC couldn't really.
Thus it would all be down to the games. The buzzword amongst console journos at the mo seems to be "Online" gaming with these new machines but we have being doing that for ages aint we!?

Therefore it has to be down to the games. In particular the stuff like arcade conversions (Crazy Taxi, Tekken Tag) and those killer apps in the pipeline (Shenmue, MGS2 and GT2000).
(A PSX2 Bleem! anyone???)

PSX2 is also being hyped as a DVD player. But I reckon that if it can't be easily chipped to play Region 1 DVDs it is not worth buying for that facility. Also I already have a DVD player so no point.

I may consider a PSX2 when the price drops to sensible levels (ie. circa 150 quid)

In the meantime, as we hear so often, ..."Let's get on with the killing"

Have you ever tried playing on your PC with a group of friends crowded around? Arguing over who has the "comfy seat"? Believe me, I've tried it and with the exception of LANs (which in themselves are an annoyance to set up - cables everywhere, is there enough power points, etc) - it's a complete waste of time.

Contrast this with a console, any console and you can see (unless you're stupid) why they're so popular. Two cables - power and telly, two (or more) controllers, slap in a game and you're away - no time wasted installing or setting up your graphics/video options. If you can't see the attraction of this, especially when the technology and games themselves are becoming more and more advanced - then you need your head read frankly.

PCs have their place in the home, as do consoles - they each serve a seperate and distinct purpose - it's pointless trying to compare the two. By the same token, why don't we all use TV cards instead of real TVs? I mean, the quality is better, you can have multiple channels on the go at one time, etc. Maybe the reason we don't all do this is because having a TV in your dining area is much more sociable, etc.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what console(s) you share your allegiance with - whether it be PSX2, Dreamcast, XBox or whatever - the fact remains that you cannot compare PCs against consoles, especially since consoles have done more to further/improve the image of computer gaming than sitting around in a dark, damp room fiddling with DirectX will ever do.

Not atm Durzel, but they've already intergrated certain features and I no doubt more of them will be added to future consoles.
