I never said I didn't think anyone had any reason to not be able to vote to the last minute, of course there will always be people in that situation but I don't think the fact that you had to wait for your missus to get in from work, go see a friend in hospital and then find your polling station means that everyone else who was voting at that time of night couldn't have possibly turned up at any other point in the approx 15 hours that polling stations were open.

So, you don't think that of the thousands that voted, the few hundred who turned up for vote at a later time (but still ON TIME) may not be in the same sort of situation as me?

Hundreds, out of thousands, seems perfectly normal to me. And they should have been allowed to vote. This is a fuck up of our shitty electoral system, plain and simple.

Conservative won in my area not by much, was something like 1.9% swing from Lib to Con. I voted Lib Dems in the end, I had no clear idea of who I wanted to vote for, ended up reading up on both and Lib Dem's grabbed my attention more (only other parties are Labour and UKIP and they will never get into power in my area its very conservative/Lib Dem, had one women flashing drivers with vote tory on her body)

Tories in my area increased the majority to 17.5k up from 12k.

Infuriating that there won't be a Tory majority but that's the rub.

Nice to see the Lib Dems lose seats.

I imagine Con + Lib is what we'll end up with but I cant see it lasting long.

Its been a very bad night for the idea of a united kingdom - you have a massive Conservative Majority in England with Labour un-diminished in Jockland and still fairly strong in Wales.

We really need an English regional parliament on these kinds of results - what a bloody mess.

Toal car crash, they were interviewing some guy from Northern Ireland last night and they asked him what Cameron would have to do to get their party on board for a coalition government (something which has already been discussed apparantly) and his response was alot of money...

I expect Lib dems and Labour to get together.

Don't Calaen, that would go against what Clegg and the Lib Dems have publicly stated. They said they would not go against public wishes to form a coalition with the party with less votes.

Also no surprise that the inner London benefit boroughs all stayed Labour. I'm in Croydon North and it's a Labour stronghold, they ran a dirty campaign out on the streets and train stations telling everyone how crap and scary the tories where, while ignoring talking about their own policies. They did loose Croydon Central to the tories though, so there is hope still.

Our Tory candidate was actually a really good guy, a solicitor that does lots and lots of pro rata work, so not your typical Tory.

Not even Lib + Lab will have a majority so for Labour to cling onto power theyd have to make a ton of hideously unfair deals with smaller parties - I cant see the English electorate standing for that tbh.

I am sure what he actually said was that he would not side with a party that had been voted 3rd. Labour are still second by a country mile. Can't see it happening now anyway, Conservatives with a minority government, means I only have to put up with being a third rate human being for 18 months before they have to hold another election.

That will be time enough for people to realise that Osbourne has no clue about anything unfortunately it will also be enough time for him to completely fuck up our recovery.
