Hufner and me have talked in game way back and most of the gm in Prydwen and the members like the idea of having Purple Warriors name protected in Excalibur by us Excalibur players.
Yea I have a character in Prydwen Purple Warriors to soo please be silence.

We can go on for ages about the use of guildnames - the fact is, it's not illegal. When the "damage" is done, all we can hope for is that the name isn't dragged down in the mud by the people who took the same name.

And if Vell gives you a compliment, that is good

I was the original creator of Purple Warriors, in 2000, in the game Ultima Online.
It was a big group of friends that just went out and killed nasty stuff.
When a few of us moved to daoc beta, it seemed the obvious choice to start it again. And so we did, it closed beta, and in open beta. When they announced the second server, we decided it might be less crowded and moved to Prydwen where it was created again.
After a few months I quit playing and gave the guild to Hufner, although I am now back playing he is still GM.
When I found out there was another PW guild, I was horrified. This was something I had worked on a long time, it meant something to me as it was all based around some values we supported.
Now I dont know why they chose to use a name the same as ours. Its not a name that would come out of thin air. It was used because we had built up a great reputation and I think thats unfair.
Feel free to flame me, I dont care whether you say I am whining or not. I think it was taken unfairly as as the creator of the guild I will never be happy about there being another Purple Warriors

Yes Pihls does indeed have many issues, childishness being amongst them. Grow up you fool, accept that the name was taken simply because of the reputation formed in beta, I had this confirmed from the original PW Excal GM (outside of beta) over a year ago. He admitted he played on the reputation.

Yes, to you, and most other people, it's 'just a name'. Just like most people will say DAoC is 'just a game'.
But it's not just a game. It's my game. It's our game.
And Purple Warriors is not just a guild. It's their guild. You cannot expect Kralina & co to be happy about someone else using the PW reputation to build their own guild, which has absolutely nothing to do with the 'real' PW.
I said earlier that most of PW-excal are nice guys. I mean that - although my opinion of their GM is rapidly decreasing. Pihls behavior certainly doesn't shine PW-Excal in a dazzling light.
But it's not just a game. It's my game. It's our game.

dumdidum you should have grabbed the guild name at start of excal (live start), you didn't... also since you dont have any copyright on the name there is nothing you can do. so quite pointless going here trying :x -

Kralina, Landar, and the rest of the 'real' PW know they can't force PW-Excal to change their name.
I can't speak for them, but I think they'd be happy enough with an admonition that PW-Excal used that guild name purely because of the PW reputation in beta (which had nothing to do with them), and an apology.
Is Pihls man enough to accept he was wrong to do so?

no, dont expect an apology from Pihls, not for taking the name, he didnt.
the original GL did, and not going to ask them to change now, now they've their own history, just less of the general "this is our name, you've not copyrighted it" attitude from him.

Maybe you should talk to her. She may no longer be the GM, but it is still her guild. Not only that, but you did have a couple of rather pathetic attempts at flaming her too.
Also, perhaps you hadn't noticed but Hufner was being rather amicable about all of this? He's a nice bloke and you've replied to his request to lock a topic that had been cleared up with the original GL with posts designed to irritate.
I've personally heard nothing but good about the members of the Excal PW, but feel sorry for all of them that have to have you at their head.

I don't care about any of you are the original GM of PW....the guild is here now...and so is the name you should have taken in the first end!
Imo i would do the same as Phils...its just fun to play with people acting like this. Either someone was in the old guild and wanted PW restarted on Excal...or someone wanted to make the guild as new, but with same pride.
I dunno about that has succeeded, but i like the PW people. They are calm and friendly.
Now walk away with your whning and play Solitaire!
