Russia in full retreat by the looks of things, routing in some places, Russians being told to shoot retreating Russians. Putin terrified. He will either do something stupid or someone will do him in.

Did you see that video of the fleeing Russian tank? was retreating so fast Russian soldiers were falling off it, ended up hitting a big tree.

Also, I agree... desperate people will do some very desperate things, if there was ever a time putin started dropping his big nuclear bombs it'd definitely be sometime now to slow down a Ukraine advance on his doorstep - he wouldn't drop it on the Ukraine directly, more likely somewhere that is very visible as a warning to stop.

I listened to an interview with, I think, the former deputy secretary of NATO (or the UN I don't recall) on the radio recently. She was saying that any nuclear threats need to be taken seriously. That Putin might detonate a small nuclear weapon (not an ICBM) in the middle of the Black Sea as a demonstration. Or perhaps onto a Ukrainian military target.

Which is basically why someone in Putin's circle has to do the brave thing, put him out of his misery, and start talking to the Western world about becoming a modern democracy, and not a vast association of shitholes plundered by billionaires.

You can't hold territory with nukes. All of Russia would realise this would be a pointless exercise.

And humans need to do the brave thing and disarm our nuclear weapons - as there's no situation where they can be used in a military context that does anything but make the continued existence of human life more precarious.

Excuse me but what if an asteroid is on the way and we need oilmen to sort it out. You've gotten rid of the nukes, and you don't want oil, so what's your answer then eh? EH?

First, we need a mechanism to spot the asteroids, THEN we can talk about Mr Willis.

Although I believe his hands are a bit wobbly nowadays, so he might not be much use :(

Actually we're pretty good now at looking out for asteroids, we notice all the important stuff.

Interesting read.

Tldr version, Ru army is probably shit through and through because of decades of corruption.

That's not exactly news though, it's been known for years that the Russian army exists on spreadsheets alone. Just like everything else in the Russian army, it's still in early 20th century mode. No central command or control, money going on phantom units and equipment.

Difference is we can see the effect now. It's no longer theoretical. It's proven.

Tis interesting...

Is this Russian TV growing a pair of balls or is it Putin changing the argument, so when he decides to pull out he can say 'well yeah, we've got some new advisors who have said that Ukraine is a nationality and a country, the ones who told us they aren't have been pushed off big buildings.'

Or is it them trying to show that they have free press by having 'nutters' on the show spouting a pro-west ideology?

I think it shows that Russians argue like us tbh.

The idea of "nation" as an absolute is a wanky idea anyway. But we're stuck in that rut :(

I mean, did you see the discussions they were having like 2-3 months ago on the same show?

Stuff like 'Ukrainians aren't a people, they're nazis, and they all deserve to die.'

I agree with you over lots of things over Ukraine, but this is one where Russia is completely fucked up.

Even a month ago there wasn't an argument, these shows were just a constant circlejerk about how awful Ukraine and its people were.
