I've watched a lot of NK official video and the sneaked out stuff...I would say overall living conditions are no different from most modern countries, a sort of poor mans Singapore..but a 100 times more authoritarian.
They have poverty..but so does the States.

This tourist video is obviously highly censored and staged..but it is shot outdoors and you can see..ordinary..but with menace hidden below.

Sort of with you there but factor in the uncertainty - that they're educated from a young age about non-state media, the secret police, the fact that there'll be enough of them fully sold on the goodness and rightness of their country.

They *could* do something about it - a popular uprising would be costly but it would work - but there's not enough of them to have a popular uprising. It would be distinctly un-popular. Or at least not wholeheartedly supported with abandon.

I don't doubt there are many that absolutely love life there too...

GDP per cap in NK is about the same as Zimbabwe, and unlike Zimbabwe they're spending what they have on missiles. Problem with all visits to NK is that all you see is a giant Potemkin Village; people are starving every winter in the countryside, but no sanctioned visitor ever sees that.

Oh yeah..the sneaked out stuff shows the real NK..but that video is the real city...and the range of living conditions in others doesnt seem that vastly different from other poor countries, of course sanctions are the actual cause.

My point was very clear - you called them cowards, my position is that they're acting like *any* group of humans would given the same set of circumstances.

He was attempting to suggest others are racist, which is what closet racists tend to do, kind of like those weirdos in the church who scream about homosexuality because they are obsessed with it.
