Authoritarian states also require the sick infrastructure of informers, and enforcers, petty zampolits, petty commissars and chekists do what they do; punish deviations from the constant worship, adulation, and praise of the Dear Leader.
You know @Job would be one of these dick-suck lackeys if something like this happened in the UK. He'd be the guy dobbing in his neighbours because he thinks they may have jews hidden in their attick.

Fuckin lol, we don't need any of those, the government in hand with the telecoms/tech companies are building a monitoring web of utterly unheard intrusion into our lives, likes and political views.
Meanwhile Scouse you often argue with me over the classic 'If you've got nothing to hide', while you back things like gps tracking and face recognition...because it helps get the bad guys.

Well theres the downside, political leaders are allready salivating at the control they have.

I support nothing of the sort. You're the idiot with the facebook account.

I do, however, support the checking of whether you've paid your car insurance on a database - because ensuring the public have properly insured vehicles is not a "tool of oppression".

So, insure your car and stop being an apologist for murderers and the supporters of murderers.

The longest period of relative world peace in the last 1000yrs was a hundred under the height of the British Empire.

Pax Britannica - Wikipedia

Yes, we were the worlds policemen beofe the yanks took over,

No it wasn't. The Pax Britannica is an enduring myth and its pretty much nonsense, based on literally a couple of years in the late 1800s that were relatively quiet. The longest period of relative world peace is from 1950 until about 2004. If we were the world's policeman we did a really shit job.

Well the information is held by law..facebook of course have it..google has it.
Are you saying you believe the government don't or cant access it.
Even if they don't..one emergency bullshit act of parliment and your entire online activity and how it relates to friend/enemies/partners in crime or passion is there to be used for whatever reason.
We have the biggest spy base in the world in Yorkshire the entire internet and phone lines for Europe is piped through it.

Generally there are more wars but they are all relatively smaller than those in the past, probably a result putting more effort in to stopping them spreading than stopping them at all.

Yeah, it's a collage of pics I've seen in mainstream media recently, what's your point?

Bar the Obama one.

So the iconic Honduras toddler crying at the US border wasnt actually seperated from her mother, appeared on the front of Time magazine to virtu signal a bazillion armchair snowflakes.
Father has said it didnt happen and the Honduras embassy agree .

But whatever, moral outrage has done its deed for the day.

Even if true they had kids in cages, separated (spelt correctly unlike in the Executive Order) from their parents some of whom may never get reunited. Hundreds of kids WERE/ARE crying themselves to sleep.

Kids in cages in warehouses is not OK.

Exactly.

Thousands of kids separated from their parents and @Job's pissed off about a possibility of a photo of a crying child not entirely showing the correct context (even if it demonstrates the exact feelings of the children).

I really don't like kids but even I'm not such a big a cunt as to get pissed off about the wrong thing here...

Ah the Fox News deflection is strong in this one.

Are you claiming this means the separations aren’t happening? Or maybe exaggerated? If it’s the former, you’re wrong, and if it’s the latter, so what? The story is about the mentality of people who would even think this plan was a good idea. “Let’s throw kids in cages to send a message that we’re badasses” These people have no moral compass whatsoever.
