notice how very little of their opposition mentions UKIP policies

That's UKIP's fault. UKIP have NO DOMESTIC POLICIES.

That's right. None. They're running solely on immigration and the EU. Nothing else. Nada. They won't talk about anything at all.

So don't blame "the opposition" if they won't talk about their policies - because they can't. You've fallen for an old political trick.

UKIP are racist, homophobic arseholes and they're doing a good job of pulling the wool over a poorly informed knee-jerk idiot public. It's just a shame the current lot are such a shower of shitheads too, or people wouldn't even dream of this bunch of evil fucktards for their protest votes...

You do realise their views are the norm in this country...they just made the mistake of talking in public.
The vast majority of people are homophobic and xenophobic.

Isn't that the whole point of them though? Like the SNP. For someone who bleats on about being oppressed by "the man" you really do lap up what you are told to lap up...

They aren't the norm but the trouble is the other parties are so far out of touch they are the natural protest vote.

And actually, democracy is the enemy of the lefty, All they care about is freedom of speech so long as you agree with them.

Anyone tried this?

30 policy questions and tells you which party is your best match and what they agree/disagree with and why.

http://eng.votematch.eu/

Apparently my policy ideas mostly match The Green Party.

Lets not forget that UKIP is not just a UK "thing" plenty of other EU country's anti EU parties are gaining traction. The fact that in its current state, the EU is a load of bollocks becomes more apparent each week.

I will still be spoiling my ballot tomorrow because frankly it doesn't matter who I vote for. It will still be the same crock of shit come Monday morning so fuck the lot of them.

Green party is polling the same as the Lib Dems at the moment.

First they ignore you... yadda yadda yadda.

You probably just misunderstand which parties have policies that align with yours most closely.

For example, I was surprised that the Green Party was Pro-GM Crops...

Erm, low corporate tax rate, flat rate tax (something you're in favour of I recall), and for some reason a massive increase in defence spending. They're the domestic policies I know about and I don't even live there.

My biggest problem with them isn't that they're racists (although some of them are and they're unbelievably Neanderthal when it comes to sexual politics) its that they're ultra-tories.

Oh, The Guardian...nice and balanced then.

You might as well link to the Daily Mirror.

At it again I see Raven. Not even bothering to read a link (or watch a video).

You working late or something? Work block the article in question?

Sorry, I just plain refuse to read anything peddled by the Guardian. You just need to look at the stock photos the lazy journalist has chosen to see that the article is a pile of ultra left bollocks.

But go ahead and let them form an opinion for you.

I find it funny that UKIP are the BNP but a bit more professional (a little bit) Yet it's OK to vote for them now, and the 'lefties' are wrong - when 5-6 years ago, everyone distanced theirselves from such politics.

Don't get so pissy about "the left" Raven. You're voting BNP anyway, remember? ;)

In all seriousness - the article quotes Farage himself saying that they don't have a manifesto, that they've disowned their last one as it's a load of crap and that they're campaigning on Immigration and Europe - and nothing else. He says they're going to come up with a manifesto with his party in the summer.

So, basically what I was referring DaGaffer to...

So er yeah. Like I said. They are a party that want to force a referendum on Europe rather than dick about with a will they or won't they load of shit like the other parties. The Tories have promised one for years and not delivered, Labour have no idea what they want until the unions tell them and the Lib Dems would quite happily bend over and take it from anyone so long as they get a pat on the head. Greens seem to think the world runs on rainbows and pixie dust. BNP a bunch of racist thundercunts and the rest of them no chance whatsoever of making any difference. All a set of despicable cunts.

At the end of the day that is all I want, the people given the choice of whether we remain in Europe, personally I am undecided but hope we can actually have a choice. Politicians may well say it is best for us to stay in or get out or whatever but they aren't there to tell us what is best for us, they are there to do what we tell them to do.

The only party that will give us a referendum is UKIP, I just don't believe the Tories after promising it X amount of times then coming out with a load of PR bollocks to say it is in our best interests to not have a say. Fuck them all.

Either vote UKIP or spoil your ballot.

Clegg has every right to his liberal views and lets not forget how many voted for him albiet on a massivly simplistic wave of popular soundbites...but it would appear they have seen the results of letting in the handwringers and have turned on the philosophy en masse...in fact the Liberals are entirely responsible for Ukips sucsses s

I've just voted. The NW voting form is absolutely massive!

I surprised myself, I voted Lib Dem for local, and Pirate Party for EU. I based my choice on both parties support for increased space for cycling.

Where I live (relatively leafy Flixton ward, Trafford), the Lib Dems only get about 3% of the vote anyway. Everyone around Stretford seems to be a dyed in the wool Labour supporter, especially in the more industrial, working class areas.

How is a referendum on Europe going to change that? We'll get told what to do by Europe or told what to do by UK.gov. It is a worthless referendum IMO. I don't give two hoots if they have one or not.

Frankly I, like the vast majority of the UK populace, won't be voting today. Here's the simple reason why: It's not worth it.

Voting for any of the parties is like choosing between five different flavours of ice cream - when you hate ice cream.

Some idiot will probably come on now and say "mandatory voting" - ignoring the ice cream analogy. If you've nobody to represent your views then the system is at fault, not the voters. You can't force people to vote between a load of "choices" that they all hate...

Our "democracy" is broken. Our choices are illusory and we already live in Raven's world where we're told what is best for us (in or out of Europe). We have no real choice. Period.

The apathetic electorate knows that.

Then spoil your ballot and show that you have an interest but don't like any of the options.

Simply not turning up just plays right into their hands.
