Also looking at the results so far, Tory voters going ukip gave simply fragmented the vote and given Labour more councils. A Labour government next year is the very last thing this country needs. Miliband as pm? Jeybus!

For all the talk of eu immigration being high, the truth is that overall immigration hasn't gone up. Immigration from the rest of the world has gone down whisky eu immigration has gone up.

the problem i have with all the hooting mouthbreathing quasi nazis who bang on and on about "immigration". is its a fucking non-entity

you need to look at it in both directions or not at all. "ZOMG FIVE BILLIONS ROMANIANS COMING IN".. and how many brits left ? L2 maths silly cunts

and seriously, anyone who protest voted UKIP, i really hope you get what you clearly deserve

oh and "coming over here taking our Jobs " ? wish someone would take ours

Scouse, a spoiled ballot , really? Grow up :(

That's a long-honoured legitimate protest vote as it says "none of the above".

Grow up? Why do you think the above is childish? You do know that they actually count and record the number of spoiled ballots don't you?

Oh look,' the people with different opinions from me are idiots' brigade pipe up.

I wasn't born yesterday, if Ukip got in power, they'd end up doing the same shit they
all do, it's simple firefighting against a bazillion different issues and opposing forces
screaming to be heard, all that talk before an election goes out the window as reality
hits home, my UKIP vote was simply to help the lazy, complacent career politicians
wake up and realise they can't carry on sending out placebo policies.

Exit polls suggest @TdC's lot have rejected their local facists.

Which is nice :)

Yes, he put his foot in it too many times and his connections with the National front sealed his fate, that's why Farage distanced himself, I do believe one of his members said Ebola was a good thing by killing black people.

Technically I think you'll find Farage and co already do.

Ed Miliband: "I'm determined over the next year we persuade them [UKIP voters] that we can change their lives for the better"

Any one can change lives for the better in the short term, just stick it on the UK credit card.

I don't agree with Job most of the time but he is perfectly entitled to his opinion. Wishing someone dead for a differing opinion is just pathetic really.

+1

Some of the views being shown by the anti-UKIP lot are 100x worse than anything I've heard come out of UKIP. UKIP, for all their many flaws, are at least trying to spark debate about the EU, everyone else seems to be trying to stifle it. Thankfully, the polls seem to show the appetitie for a debate is still alive and well, despite the howlings of derision from the BBC and Guardian.

The rise of UKIP and the prospect of Scottish Independence are posing a very serious shake up of politics in this country.

It could be the best thing that could ever happen.

Actually, mentioning Scottish Independence has reminded me of something which tickled me - no, not the prospect of Scotland ever becoming independent, and no, not Salmond's calculations on how it's all going to be paid for, or his assertion that the EU will welcome Scotland with open arms and be happy to take them, no not any of that. It's just the supposed irrelevance of UKIP to Scotland as UKIP are a bunch of nasty racists, when the entire Indepedence movement, seems to be based on an irrational hatred of the English.

How's that any different to UKIP's message?

Farrage and Salmond are the same person. You never see them in the same room together. Same shit, different flavour of prejudice.

The problem with democracy is that when there's a shake up in politics, for the first 5 years there'll be drastic change but after 30 years, the 'drastic change' becomes diluted, needing another shake up to change everything again for a short time.

Basically, whilst people are living in shit, the shakeups happen, when the economy gets better, shit'll happen (Such as 'New Labour') and people look for something to blame.

UKIP will be a passing phase, IMO, they don't have the means to get into power, they do not have a proper reason to be there. (Look at the birth of Labour, totally different story)

UKIP would've been a much better party if they were socialists with the anti-EU message, it makes little sense (to me) to have a party that wants out of the EU (Which attracts working class votes) Then to say 'Oh yeah, our domestic/foreign policies is 1800's Tory.)

What.

To be honest, all the Tories would have to do is actually deliver the referendum on the EU they have been promising, and I doubt UKIP would be anything other than a footnote in the election. As it is, if Call Me Dave and his cronies don;t get their fingers out, we'll be looking at a Labour government next time, and the death of the UK as we know it, with state interference in every single aspect of our lives.

Joy. The country hasn't recovered after the last time Labour got in and sent us to hell in a handbasket, the way it's going, they're going to get a chance to finish the job.

I have never wished him dead. I have challenged his opinion...which I disagree with most of the time. That is the difference. @Mabs is just an immature shouty moron who can't cope with differing opinions without resorting to wanting people "to drown"

That's something I hadn't really considered. I would imagine UKIP will do really well this weekend when the Euro results are announced (They're likely to better their local election results by some margin), and that could well give confidence to the waverer's who might be considering a yes vote to independence.

This could be very good for the remainder of the UK as it should mean Labour losing any chance of ever getting power again.

Will Labour match the Tory pledge for a referendum on Europe now? I think they will at their next party conference.

Yes, he put his foot in it too many times and his connections with the National front sealed his fate, that's why Farage distanced himself, I do believe one of his members said Ebola was a good thing by killing black people.

That quote came from the father of the current leader, and founder of the French Front National, Jean-Marie Le Pen (a right nutter tbh). He then backpedaled and claimed people had misunderstood his remarks, or words to that effect.

Geert wilders distanced himself immediately from the remarks, although it is his intention to partner with the FN in the EU gov, because, you know, political suicide and all that.

Speaking of distancing, let's leave out the advising people to kill themselves posts pls.
