haha, it's so refreshing to see players act like normal people. So often when yuo see them on the touchline they are staring into oblivion.

So Marc, what do you feel about the transfer? I like it since i love Zlatan as a player and really don't like Serie A, and as most people i have a soft spot for Barca :p

Will still get kicked out by Liverpool in CL tho!

It's the best bit of business Jose has ever done. Get rid of a striker that could not perform for him in Europe, get nearly £40million cash, and a striker worth about £25million thrown in -a striker with a proven track record of scoring in Europe, and who will tear Italian defences apart.

honestly do not know what Barca are doing, think Pep has lost the plot.

Then again, if you followed Serie A. Gotten rid of the Striker that single handedly won the Scudetto for them 3 seasons in a row pretty much. I doubt it was Jose's buisness, he has said over and over that Zlatan is the best player in the world and he will not even sub him. But i suspect they will get even stronger now when they can get a decent midfield aswell with the money. Before they were a onetrick pony. Maybe they can become a bit more flexible now.

What Jose says and what he believes are very different things. He is a motivator (unless your name is Schevchenko), he would not slate Zlatan publicly, he built him up and gave him self belief with the whole "better player than Ronaldo" thing -yet he still failed to come through for him in Europe. Also scoring in serie A has not been the hardest of tasks in recent years, the league has suffered from the after affect of the scandals and cash problems.

I honestly believe Eto'o is twice the player Zlatan is, and I just do not see how Barca will play without Eto'o.

If Inter fail to win anything at all this season. I think Moratti is in for some flaming from the fans :)

If Zlatan starts to score some easy goals as well (which should be possible now that he actually will get support). I think he can score an really impressive amount of goals. I think it even was some Spanish newspaper that presented Zlatan like "The star that only scores beautiful goals", but that is not always a good thing :)

Shame he's a defender, i hope he becomes awesome though!

I think Zlatan is going to be rated amoungst the top 3 in the world this time next year, i can see him being a complete beast in a team like Barcelona and in a league like La Liga. I bet he'll break his european curse as well. TBH i dont think he was that bad at the CL, against United he was isolated against Rio and Vidic and still did more than the whole of Manu's front line combined.

At the moment, Id rather have kept Eto as has proven time and time again, he is a world class striker, right up there with Fernando Torres, yet Ibrahimovic is a bit of an enigma. That said, if Ibra makes me eat my words I will be happy.

Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch will complete a £10m move to Tottenham on Monday.

Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Arsenal defender Kolo Toure in a deal worth £15m, while the Eastlands club also expect to sign Chelsea captain John Terry and Everton defender Joleon Lescott by the end of August.

That team you played are fucking dire though, i remember we played them last year :p

Terry spoke today as well, Man City turned down again :(

Beat AC Milan the other day, really enjoyed the game as well because they put up a much better fight than expected. Great to see Zhirkov scoring the winning goal, and Drogba is in great form too. Interesting fact! Zhirkov won Russian Player of the year ahead of Arshavin last time, and is generally regarded as the best Russian player.

Yes the team we played were dire, but that doesnt stop you from assessing a players fitness and levels of sharpness.

Was interesting to see after the game that the utd players had been hooked up to some electronics under their shirts. Guessing that the heart rates etc were being monitored :)

Have any of your unknowns performed well? Tosic for example. I saw Ljajic play for Serbian youts the other day and thought he had some good potential.

Tosic has been ok, delivered a few useful crosses and scored a goal, not sure if he has what it takes though. Darren Gibson continues to impress, he might make it if he becomes a bit more aggressive.

Have been telling people for the last 2 seasons about Zhirkov and I was gutted United never tried to get him, I think he has the potential to be a very very good player in our league.

I have no idea whats happened to Gibson, when he came to us he looked no better then a L2 player.

He is head and shoulders the current best Russian player atm, absolute quality and can play almost everywhere, his performances in euro2008 were immense.

Toure close to a move to City now, £16m. Another crafty piece of business by Arsenal :p

With the ACN this year and considering he put in a transfer request in January it might be too much for Wenger to turn down.

So he buys a CB in Vermeliean to add depth to your back line, and then sells arguably your best CB to a team that plans to challenge for the top 4 this season, along with a goalscorer that would have got you a minimum of 15 goals a season?

Yeah, great business by Arse here. Honestly, are you Arse fans not extremely worried right now?

On the BBC website Arsene says he has 7 centrebacks to choose from, some of which can play in midfield. Toure seems versatile so you would have thought he'd rather get rid of one of the others.
