Let's say you are a Somalian immigrant in the UK you have been bought up in a country where life is very cheap so violence does not scare you. You might be less likely to shoot someone than a guy born and raised in Ealing. That is why Operation Trident exists goups from Jamaca, Solmaia ect are bringing old troubles to the UK and that is why Operation Trident targets "black" people, it has bugger all to do with skin colour.

Yeah I did read the links Raven put down and there are many more examples of such. Once more if it has bugger all to do with skin colour, then why say it targets "black" people (yes I know why).

I'd say the problem lies in certain areas (boroughs?) of London and how they are demographically build up. Solving that problem would mean choosing how many people of a certain culture or income could live in a certain area. And that would be....

why is saying some is black being a racist now?

First, the dictionary quote is spot on ofcourse, but a little short. Not sure why you put in bigot there.

To answer your question. Making the observation that someone is black or coloured isnt racist persé (although one could argue it is*). However, when placing it in context of a certain event or using statistics it is. Why? Because not every (black) person in that statistic or event acted that way or falls in that catagory (statistical wise).

The problem is that to make sense of it all, we like to catagorize (people in groups). We also like to belong to certain groups and behave accordingly. Be it your favourite football club or your nation (patriotism).

You could say the riots happend in certain areas in cities of England (and look at the inhabitants). I could say the riots happend in England and just look at England as a whole.


* If you make an observation (any observation) you immidiatly attach a certain thought behind it. Nothing you can do about it, it just how the mind works.

Not even going to bother with some of the latest posts. Big G, Raven etc. The riots had fuck all to do with race, please do not even attempt to say it was all black kids rioting.

It was kids, and young adults, the majority of which were poor or stupid. Race played no part apart from the cultural make up of any one area dictating who looted.

As soon as people start discussing colour, they are shooting themselves in the foot. People are people, ffs.
