Indeed, but are you inferring the driver also confused the truck for the sky?
I'm talking about the Tesla system ...wtf, got shares in Tesla data systems have you.
isn't there a story about some dude having saved his whole life to buy a Winnebago only to trash it because he turned on the cruise control and went in the back to make himself a cup of coffee? it veered off the road and totaled itself. maybe it's a Snopes thing. edit: yes, very old one too!

That story is considerably more epic than the attention it is getting...Tesla have just killed someone and it beggars belief to me that they were allowed to even implement such technology and it wasnt banned the second youtube vids of people letting the car drive for them, were released.
The lawyers must be looking to build a new office block in every city to house the ambulance chasers.
How many pf those 143 million miles were in test conditions ? What sort of automation was in those miles? The google one or this semi auto system. I dont think the tesla beta system really qualifies as an automated system. As said before its supposed to be attended all the time. Could be it caused more close shaves and the human in it stopped the accident. The driverless cars are already better than humans mile-for-mile @Job.
1.5x might not be 100x but it's still better. No matter how you feel about it.
It clearly doesn't.I have full faith in the abilities of driverless cars, but it will take neural networks, constant inter car communication and certainly humans ultimately looking over the whole thing from above.
I mean from a control centre overseeing the entire thing like traffic control, decisions will have to be made on things computers are a long way off from grasping.
What the hell has that got to do with safety?I mean from a control centre overseeing the entire thing like traffic control, decisions will have to be made on things computers are a long way off from grasping.
