The "tiny snapshot" was responding to @Moriath saying it was "recovering from the low after Thursday". FYI the big tall red bit on the left is what happened after the referendum.
Oki it went to 1.50 before the result. Down to 1.31 or so after and is up a bit now ok. I meant after the result ofcourse

I had some marmite chocolate at Xmas, it was surprisingly delicious.

That's surprising! I've only tried pure vegemite (godawful) due to that's what's available at ye old English shoppe. But are you sure it's complimenting the chocolate?

Let me also recommend a great series: Marco Polo. Season 1 and 2 is out, and there's a short prequel movie you can watch before the series.

Yeah noticed season 2 was out today. Loved season 1 and the spin-off wasn't too bad either.

With regards to the unfortunate accident where a guy died due to his Tesla S autopilot function malfunctioned and didn't recognize the white truck/lorry thus, the car smacking straight into it on a freeway/highway. Apparently he were a youtuber of some sorts.

First of all, what was he doing while the letting the car drive itself, sitting in the passenger seat recording videos? What idiot in his right mind would let a car drive itself on a road in high velocity with heavy traffic (assuming it was heavy trafficked that day).

That story is considerably more epic than the attention it is getting...Tesla have just killed someone and it beggars belief to me that they were allowed to even implement such technology and it wasnt banned the second youtube vids of people letting the car drive for them, were released.
The lawyers must be looking to build a new office block in every city to house the ambulance chasers.

The whole system is disabled by default and it can sense when you haven't got your hands on the wheel and will slow down until you do. I imagine they're covered from that perspective but obviously it's not good PR.

Volvo's Test engineer for crash avoidance a few months ago:
Trent Victor said:
“It gives you the impression that it’s doing more than it is,” says Trent Victor, senior technical leader of crash avoidance at Volvo, in an interview with The Verge. “[Tesla’s Autopilot] is more of an unsupervised wannabe.”

Volvo autonomous car engineer calls Tesla’s Autopilot a ‘wannabe'

Er..one guy filmed a drive down a private road from the back seat.

I'm not sure that the car could have stopped even with him driving, looks like the truck turned right in front of him.
Regardless, it's going to put back driverless tech years.

It's like blaming cruise control for ploughing into a stationary vehicle, or sat nav for putting you in a lake. Tesla say that you should remain alert and with your hands on the wheel. Either he wasn't or the truck driver fucked up.

Tesla said that (paraphrasing) the bright white side of the truck confused the system and it didn't think there was anything in that lane. I'd call that a bug.

Obviously it will now be banned and the feature will have to be disabled, just cannot believe something that encourages you not to look at the road was ever allowed....The power of Musk obviously, and his half assed system has ruined it for everyone.

Indeed, but are you inferring the driver also confused the truck for the sky?

I'm pretty sure that Tesla also state that the software is still in beta and at no point should you remove your hands from the wheel.

I didn't even used to use a beta WinRar, who the fuck would rely on this?

He either put too much faith in the system or somehow fooled it into thinking he was "alert" or both. Maybe it suddenly lurched into the next lane, thinking it wasn't occupied, and he didn't have time to react. It's conceivable that the car was in the middle of an overtake and the driver thought everything was going swimmingly and then all of a sudden it pulls into the side of the truck (if it was *that* sure that the lane was empty).

Whatever happened, it's going to put autonomous vehicles under much more scrutiny, which can be no bad thing.

Stop with your 'ban' nonsense you backwater monger. Do everyone a favor and just retire.
