The positive racism that means that company's and civil service need to have a balance of ethnic to White British means that even though I might be the best candidate I wouldn't get the job.

I am less likely to get given a council house and more likely to get charged with a crime as the authorities don't have to worry about being called on racial profiling.

Oh and On the horse meat thing that makes sense that we look after our livestock over those that serve no use. Why not eat horse meat it's better for you that beef and would mean that horses are on the whole treated better than they are now because they have a worth, would be he same if we could eat badgers or any other animal we persecute.

The numbers of moslems in British prisons relative to the population would suggest that's a load of crap even if other parts of your analysis may be correct.

The positive discrimination for employment thing is also statistically and practically untrue; there's no legal requirement in the UK for any kind of racial "quota" and even in countries where affirmative action has been tried, it almost never means "the white guy doesn't get the job", it means "the white guy doesn't get the janitor's job".

That's a pretty bold statement. I reckon you dont get discriminated against thousands of times a day without realising it. My brother is half kenyan and has got lighter skinned over the years (theres no sun to keep his "tan" topped up here). Back in the day we'd be out in town shopping or whatever and the reaction we'd get together from society was radically different from the reaction I would get on my own. Before you start going on about how hard the white man has it you should take a long hard look at how hard the rest of society has it (including white women).

It makes sense that if you start targeting help on an ethnic basis that those ethnicities you leave out will fall behind and so it happens. The white kids from families in receipt of free school meals are the worst performers in the system.

In reality we should be targeting the poor kids from all ethnicities - poverty and accompanying lack of expectations for the future are the most disruptive factor to a child's exam performance.

Typical wanky BBC press release article. Using examples of people texting (what does that have to do with hands-free?), using examples of the number of people with points for using a mobile device (I guarantee none of those were caught using hands-free). Its seems to me that journalists simply reprints bullshit from pressure groups without questioning any of their "facts" any more.

I don't actually disagree that talking on the phone while driving, even hands-free, is distracting, but so are countless other things (fiddling with the sat nav for example), and you aren't going to stop them because we live in the real world. Concentrate on the really dangerous stuff (like texting while driving) and accept the rest.

Its actually not the same. They've done quite a lot of research on it; a passenger usually knows when to shut up if there's a problem on the road, whereas someone on the other end of the line can't know that so they carry on yakking and the driver finds it hard to disengage from the conversation. And radio is ambient; most people have no problem prioritising attention to the road, but its much harder when there's a dialog going on because its how our brains are wired. As I said in an earlier post, there is an issue with any telephone conversation in the car, but you have to live in the real world; how do the police stop someone talking on a hands-free? Its almost impossible to see from outside the car what's actually going on; the driver could be talking to another passenger, dictating a message or singing a song. Unenforceable laws are usually bad laws, so it doesn't make much sense to devote police resources to something they'll never be able to properly enforce anyway.

Who? The almost non existant traffic police - they could generate a days worth of paperwork in 10 minutes on any day

Its about the least effective law ever.

Every time I drive I see someone talking on their phone. If I were a policeman I'd just drive around unmarked with a mate taking photos out of the window all day. Then we'd hand them to the backoffice chumps who extract the reg and issue the ticket, along with an appeal form if the driver != the owner.
