OK, I'm going to call people 'Nigger'

When they threaten to kill me, I will explain that I am simply describing them by the colour 'nigger brown', that's my intent, it's completely harmless FREEDOM OF SPEECH BABY!
It is..its offensive thats all, if they threaten to kill you thats a criminal offence.
I mean if a white person says it .
Im not sure if mixed race people can.

What about Terrorists @Scouse they sit around discussing blowing up the Queen, then they get raided by the Police, would you be there to say, actually, freedom of speech boys, these guys were only discussing it, they didn't do anything, let them go!
You keep mixing up threats of violence with the freedom to be offensive.
If they are planning to kill someone thats not freedom of speech...if they call the queen a smelly cracker with the brain of a monkey..thats offensive.
Danny lost his job for a picture.

oh nooooo, someone lost his job?!?!? The world is gonna eeeeend!!!
Just because it's not a post about the natural apocalypse capitalism is precipitating (that nobody cares about) doesn't mean it's not shit, that it's not an injustice and thst it doesn't reflect the fact we've become dramatically less free as a dociety to express ourselves because we now police by offense - which is ridiculous.

As I'm sure you all know I am not a fan of the Twitter witch hunt and the de-personing that seems to follow these days, based on an ill-advised tweet, or even worse, a tweet from 10 years ago when people were a hell of a lot less sensitive and causing offence was a badge of honour worn by Frankie Boyle, Eminem etc. I could see where Danny Baker was going with it (the Royal Family basically are performing monkeys), but he probably should have thought in this case it wasn't such a great idea given how sensitive everyone is. Ans whilst I struggle with people losing their jobs over tweets, when you work for the state broadcaster and send a tweet that can easily be intepreted as racist (even if I agree it wasn't necessarily) you are on very shaky ground.

Sad, as I quite like Danny Baker, but he cocked up in this case. An apology should do it, but this is 2019, and the mob won't rest until the offender is living on the street.

I am enjoying the delicious irony of some of the more "woke" celebrities who used to love a pile-on when the victim was right of centre, now getting caught up in this for defending Danny Baker. It's worth checking out Dara O Brien's Twitter feed, he appears to be getting set upon by Guardian journalists no one has heard of with the Blue tick.

That's because the Danny Baker thing actually happened, and isn't just a figment of some communist with a wonky computer model's imagination. Even if hell freezes over and they actually get one of their predictions right for a change, capitalism is probably our best hope of preserving our natural environment. Compare the environmental impact and conservation efforts of Western Democracies, compared to China etc. I think we can all probably sleep soundly at night.

Lol. I wondered whether you'd reply to that one @Bodhi. The post was like fishing for denialists :)

Lets pretend, like you, I don't believe Climate Change is real. You win, it's a load of shit.

You can count animals, plants and species extinction though. Without theorising - it's dead easy - you just count them, keep counting them and then see what the numbers look like. It's not "modelling" or any airy-fairy extrapolation that (whilst still sound science) can be dismissed. It's a cold hard numbers count of things that people can go out and see, look and touch with their own hands.

So then @Bodhi. Climate Change is bullshit. Is the well-quantified and unprecedented decline of life and accelerating species extinction rate also a conspiracy theory too?

Very simple question that one.

Except that report IS based on computer models, as it includes species we haven't even discovered yet! Clue is in the first piece of data in the report - an "estimated" 8 million species on Earth. To me, estimates aren't cold hard numbers, they are warm fuzzy ones including a great deal of interpretation.

It's also damn near identical to the report they released in 1982.

But anyway, good to see you've completely (and I expect deliberately) misrepresented my position on Climate Change. It's a natural process that has always happened, that some hubristic humans think is possible to control. I personally don't, and would rather we focused on things like drinking water for Africa and clean air.

If anything the real deniers are the ones who think we can somehow stop Climate Change, as it's not something that's ever stopped before.

Lol :)

You're so scared that you might be forced to make lifestyle changes you'll deny the easy and self-evident: that numbers of species that we monitor are in massive decline and extinction rates are at record levels.

Not really that surprised that a man who can survive cancer yet keep smoking feels that way...

Some are, and I have no issue with pointing the finger at man for poaching, habitat loss etc, and fully agree with any iniatives to prevent that. Although ironically enough, some of mankind's biggest crimes against nature are in the name of saving the planet, be it wind farms decimating Birds of Prey, clearing rain forest for Palm Oil, or those floating solar farms being proposed in the far east.

However mankind also has some great conservation stories, funnily enough from capitalist countries. Polar bear populations are higher than they've ever been - probably why the alarmists are avoiding the polar bear and focusing on the walrus instead for their climate porn. Even though walrus deaths are nothing to with CC in the slightest.

Or India’s endangered Asiatic lion population increases to 600

So good work is already being done, so your typical Malthusian attitude seems sorely misplaced.

Just imagine what we could do with the $1.5 trillion a year we spend on trying to change the weather on something a hit more...realistic.

I could literally evidence almost every line of that diatribe and refute it with actual science, but it's not going to make a blind bit of difference to you. Never has.

So I'll just chuckle at your tin foil hat and leave it at that.

Question Time?

Farage treats it like the Nuremberg Rallys
Politicians from other parties get a right of reply. It's a moderated debate show.

Come on gwad. You're a clever guy - why have you stopped pausing and thinking "why not xxx", recently?

Except of course farage gets a new one ripped every episode, while they'd all join in fawning over a remain MP.

Did you see the ep with Johnny Mercer? It was JUST after the scandal about the company he's director of that went bust etc etc.

Ian Hislop attempted to rip him a new one, but the deflected brilliantly (he's a Remain MP).

Yes, but signalling your allegiance to the court of remain is the hot potato now.

It makes you look superior.....because, you know, the media.

Pakistan hotel attack gunmen shot dead

Interesting.

It's about China and they've put a small bit in the article justifying why they committed this attack.

Could you imagine when a British soldier died in Afghanistan, they had a small bit of the article talking about why the Afghans are fighting the foreign invaders?

Nah, they'd have a bit talking about how they're all blood soaked Islamic extremists.
