Reading the FT article would suggest the hostesses were a bit more informed than that, and many were previous attendees.

This wasn't some minimum wage gig for eastern European waitresses fresh off the boat. Go and read the FT article. It doesn't mean anyone behaved acceptably, but you're acting like this was barely more than sex trafficking. A sense of proportion is a good thing.

BTW being a member of a Golf Club, and having worked at both men only and women only events, they are pretty much as bad as each other. Then again back then (in the heady days of 2007) women were strong enough to distribute the aforementioned slap when lines were crossed. Apparently the 2018 generation haven't figured this out.
