Well, the software is installed on European cars. I guess it depends whether the "defeat device" can do other shit besides NOx, or whether they are so bad that they can't even hit Euro 5 NOx levels (which are three times higher than US EPA NOx standards) as to whether they've used it or not.

Might just ignore it, apparently if they don't send it registered, they have no proof that you recieved it to prosecute.

I had to do jury duty at the end of last year. We weren't assigned to a case until after we arrived on the first day, so there was no way of knowing how long it would take until you got there; the average case takes less than 3 weeks though. If you're lucky then you don't even get assigned to a jury and they just send you home again. Mine ended up taking 2 weeks (but only 4 days each week).

Bring a book because it's mostly just sitting around in a waiting room anyway; they find all kinds of excuses to take a break.

I didn't even get the £65 because they had carefully timed it so that I'd just finished uni and so didn't have a job yet, so I couldn't claim that I was losing any wages.

Yes, you can't even have a mobile, which for me would be torture, just going to explain very firmly that I do not wish to do it and would not take part anything, wouldn't listen and make a decision on a coin toss.
