I've had it with SD cards, they fuk up all the time, 3 brand new Samnsung Micro SD cards, gone partially corrupt, losing pictures, corrupting video.
Come back from Sicily and 50 photos corrupt in the middle of the card, 2 videos gone as well.
Luckily 90% was on the internal memory. lost half of my Miami vacation on Sony cam to card corruption..they are shit.
Backward step in format and function.

Meh, I've got loads of CF and (Micro)SD cards and I've only ever had 1 failure.

And as for them being a backwards step... huh? Since when was putting 512GB of storage into something the size of a fingernail in the least bit backwards?

I've used and abused SD cards, put them through the washing machine, dropped them onto sand, had them up and down mountains and never had an issue.

For the most times I travel with a netbook, pictures taken through the day gets transferred to the netbook and uploaded to online storage each day. Pictures are usually never more then a day on the SD card... except when I forget it completely and remembers it three months later. I've had 1 picture ever corrupted on a SD card.

I found out the reason...swapping batteries on the Samsung note without dismounting card first can corrupt the card, which is something you should do, but who does and they really need to sort out the potential of total data loss.from powering down these cards...even gopro now have a built in mp4 recovery button in the cameras for battery loss during filming and they recommend a third party program if that doesn't work..it simply stinks...wtf can't they protect the card against totally fucking up it"s file structures with something that is a common event.

Why do you take the battery out ? My wifes got a note never once had the need to remove the battery

Guy I work with swaps his everyday because he does not charge his phone. Rather than charge it overnight he leaves it then moans when it dies and he is not near his pc to charge it. ID 10 T error.

so...you're not following the procedure. the card's filesystem became corrupted. someone else should do something about it.

Well I only just found that out because it doesn't effect the internal memory, only the external SD, but seeing as it can write off an entire 64GB of data in a phone where the removeable battery is a feature..it would be helpfull if they put a sticker by the battery warning you to unmount the SD card first.
