Well that was then and now he's working again...because..guess what..the Poles want more money and they tend to flit from one job to the next and they can't track them down to fix faults...so they rehire British guys again with more stable lives who will honour contracts and return to sort out problems...in other words the things they were paying extra for, he's back working full time and the first six months was going around sorting niggling problems that never got sorted by migrant workers cos they were off to the next quick buck.
Who's fault is that though?
The customers or the Poles?
I appreciate that there's regulations and such, but when a British person tells you that they'll do a job fully regulated etc +25% compared to what a Pole would do, you'd rather have it done not perfectly if you were strapped for cash.
Removing the Poles won't fix the issue, you'll just have more British cowboys doing their job.
End of the day, I know loads of people that live around me, my age, who have started up their own small businesses, and they hire Poles, the Poles do a shit job because they're told to, and they get blamed, because they're the ones actually doing the job.
