Not sure if i've had more then one bday thread in all the years.

Which is fine as i don't like to make it special. FH knows, you just might not know it yet. You don't care about your bday @fettoken :p

We are amazing parents but we like to completely run down our phones battery because it's better for it, or it used to be. But our battery runs out really quick because we take so many pictures of our kids. It's fine though, we have a charger in the car, we need that to use the phone sat nav to take the kids to all the activities etc they do.

Edit - Please know me before replying in any serious way.

BTW, lithium batteries don't care at what point you charge them. You don't have to run it flat before you charge it to keep the battery in good order. The best thing you can do is, when you're at home, leave it plugged in the wall. That way the battery isn't being used, extending its total life.

Who could run longer; wolverine or captain america?

I'd have to go with wolverine simply due to wolverines skeleton probably outlasting the caps. Both have the healing power to keep them going like duracell bunnies, but still, one would eventually run out.

Ignoring the shitstorm cause of Toto's silly comment, why hasn't anyone mentioned that Marc's iPhone is down to 30%~ at 7am? There's a joke about an inferior product with shit battery life in there somewhere! (And yes we're assuming he charges it every night!)

I just assumed he's been up drinking with his kid all night and haven't gone to bed yet. So 30% is pretty good.

I'm honestly not surprised by the iphone/whatnot batteries lasting an hour. It started being an issue when we moved to touchscreens in a major way, around 2007ish?

I have to admit, Chester is a beautiful city, right by the river Dee here, all the massive victorian houses on the hill with tiered gardens and more importantly this seems to be the totty triathalon, some of these swimsuits belong in porn.

If you're hanging with your kid and your phone is down to 36%, you're not spending enough time with your kid and too much time on telling others about your kid.

Don't know why I'm lowering myself to replying to such a complete bell end but here we go. Look at the top of the picture next to the 36% battery you pointed out. Look. Look at the time then compare that to the time I posted it on face book you complete moron. Feel free to start an argument about taking pictures of my daughter whilst at a pub instead of playing with her. I will shoot you down again

Honest answer...she fell out of bed around 5am. Put her back in and she fell back asleep but I couldn't get back to sleep. So used my 100% charged phone to read the Internet, place my bets etc. So 2 hours of browsing I had lost 64%. Is that abnormal or comparable with other phones?

That's atrocious tbh. I think? I don't know but I've interneted for 2 hours straight on my Note 3 and not lost anything like that (maybe 20-30%). Fair enough the Note has a huge battery but 64% after a couple of hours sounds bad.

It does seem quite bad. if you're using an iphone 5, I know Apple did a battery recall on those, so if that's what you have, give this page a look - https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone5-battery/
smartphones do drain the battery quick when browsing though, especially if you have the brightness up, have things like bluetooth active, and especially if you're using 4g. It's one of the main reasons I went for a bigger phone with decent power management, the battery lasts a lot longer compared to my older phones (iphone 4s and samsung galaxy s3, 1 and 1.5 day battery life respectively)

Basically the same as my piece-of-shit phone Nokia Lumia 925. And i would say it's the case for more handheld/pad devices nowdays unless you get one of those portable batteries.

My iPhone 6 is quite good on battery tbh, the only time it drains is when I use the satnav app, that really does kill it in no time at all

Ps another time was driving Volvo estate and got side swiped by a white van. Not much damage (mainly to the van) both pulled over. I had 3 children on back seat. I and white van men climbed out I gave them an absolute bollocking while they stood squirming. I probably reminded them of their mums. We left it at that but my children were very scared. you shouldn't have done that mum it's SO dangerous. This was a few years ago. I don't think I'd dare do it now.

I daren't eve use my iPhone sat nav as I can literally see my battery going down tick by tick each second. I have had the phone for 2 years maybe that's why the battery is so bad. I'm due an upgrade next month and don't want to move away from an iPhone but the battery depresses me

Anyone care to explain how ISIS has caused Turkey to go on a Anti-Kurd fight? I'm confused.

Kurds are doing quite well against ISIS. Kurds are becoming more confident and still want their own state. Turkey bit scared of that, so Turkey not wanting to get involved with ISIS as fighting the same enemy legitimises the Kurds' claims.

Surely the Turks realise the West wouldn't be happy about that?
