Old buggers like me can watch a trend and see where it ends up...my mates dad moved to Wales and left his big house vacant for six months...the insurance guy came around to quote for empty property insurance...the guy wasn't that bothered about security, he just went around checking there was nothing that could harm an intruder, drain the pool, put some ladders over the fragile roof (I shit you not) and clear the walkways in case they trip over.
Of course that's the modern world, as the insurance guy said, we pay out hundreds of times more in liability claims than simple theft.
