Didn't want to put this in @Access Denied s Thread but that's what triggered my thought. Last year a white van ran into my daughter's car boot at a roundabout. At speed and he admitted all responsibility. The insurance paid for her boot. She and boyfriend were checked out and were fine. We've been inundated with calls from claims firms as we were the previous owners! Then her insurance got in touch with her and said the van driver has been awarded a few thousand pounds for his injuries!!! Insurance people have more or less told her and boyfriend to claim because, if the van driver got money, for nothing, they should, if only for the stress he caused. Ridiculous or what?

All those ambulance chasers. Donno if it's true but was supposed to be some of them hung around emergency departments looking for trade.

If you got a bit of a stiff neck deal with it. Insurance is there for people who really need to claim. If you have to be encouraged to claim then you didn't need to.

It's this blame culture. Always someone to blame and therefore always someone to shift the responsibility on to.

this tbh. when some cunt backed in to my GT and fucked off, I was told if I claimed the cost of the replacement panel I would lose the 75% discount I had for never having used my insurance. an ultimate overal cost of more than the actual repair, ergo the perfect deterrant. the only discernable reason that I have insurance is for if I do damage, through my own fault, and do the good thing and leave my contact data.

I have protected no claims so I can have one claim without affects it. But I think I should have more after nine years without a claim
