Been reading all the latest internet slanging matches in the great climate change debate since the latest IPCC report..it has descended into farce with both sides digging in..the reality of course is the report will be ignored because the world governments know most people don't believe it...possibly due to the combined effect of climategate..diabollically bad weather prediction of more than 2 days not inspiring much confidence in long term trend modelling and general mistrust of any international panel of any discipline.
I personally think this will be sciences waterloo and will have huge ramifications to it's reputation with the infiltration of belief into the scientific process.

Thinking about it, I'm not sure I've ever seen Gyllenhaal put out a bad performance, maybe Prince of Persia but that was more down to the film being guff.

People annoy me so much, I'm watching that Make Leicester British, I wouldn't usually watch this kinda shit, but I was intrigued, since it's Leicester.

But there's a Indian-Kenyan-British woman on there who is moaning about immigrants and stuff, and moaning at a Somalian woman, for seeking asylum, and it's wrong.

No necessarily. They may have come with skilled jobs or just normal immigration. Not heard of many Indians or Kenyans seeking asylum.

When the the British African colonies became independent, there were sizable populations of Indians, and those who remained loyal to the Empire came to the UK, a lot of them wanted to stay in Africa, but they came over because they had no real alternative, since they were persecuted by the Kenyan masses, I have a friend who actually came from Kenya who's Grandad wanted to stay, because he owned his own business in a nice hot country and made a decent living, but he simply couldn't, because it was getting very dangerous.

No, but technically alot of them came because it was either they live their lives in the country that they lived, or they came back to the 'motherland' with nothing, and start again.

Basically, it wasn't a choice, it was more or less forced upon them.

While true, many more left that stayed due to the discrimination they faced post Kenyan Independence, while not exactly claiming refuge (they simply used their British passports) plenty came here with no skills whatsover.

I disagree, as I say, my friends family claim they came because they were practically fleeing a nation who didn't necessarily like them, a lot stayed yes, but arguably, that's like the whites in South Africa after the ANC got into power - they left voluntarily, but maybe not willingly.

The initial independence wave meant that you could trade your British passport for a Kenyan passport, but after that some Indians kept their British passport, but decided to stay in Kenya, after that there were some reprisals.

My point is, that they came to this country in the same respect that Somalians come to this country today - with relatively nothing and we welcomed them, and let them live in the UK and make a living for their selves, I find it highly hypocritical when an 'immigrant' says that we shouldn't allow asylum seekers.
