Ooooohhhh i see what your going at , your letting every1 see that your good at making funny posts just like karam right ? :p

ok for real , i think alot of your post is just not treu.

Most ppl in this game are nice and help you if you ask , ok most of us dont walk around asking you need help you need help , but would you do that ?

_I think you're all being remarkably unfair to him_

Why ? he started the post and its not like his remarks are fair !

_I would have liked to see daoc become a friendly community with people willing to help out new players, guilds that are interested in helping people rather than being the uberest guild around because they've got all the high levels._

It is , i never had any problem finding help for whatever , guild (that i know of) always help new ppl and i dont think any of the guild is here to be uber (maybe to be succesfull , but i dont see why thats wrong , but i think whit uber you mean : l33t i think we beter than the rest guild)

_I think you're all being pathetic_

Aaah you have that : Im not crazy , all of you are ! aditude.

Problem is Karam has fallen apart before our very eyes.

iirc, his first posts were basically 'OMG POLEARMS RULE!!!111' with stories of how he would own everyone when he got his uber lvl50 polearm. He was mid 40s at this stage. Big mistake with this attitude is you raise your profile so that loads of people know you 'omg theres that karam muppet lets own him'

And he got owned, repeatedly and publicly. Most of his later posts are characterised by 'nerf skalds, they owned me but there was 3 of them' and eventually ended up with a duel with Wuren (which he lost spectacularly) which led to 'he was lucky cos he parried' BS.

I know he's a troll, but he really has gone through what lots of players go through as they approach 50. 50 will be so cool, I will do soooo much better in RvR etc..

Sadly, it just ain't like that, so in a way, I can sympathise with Karam. But not too much, because he still is the master of his own downfall. Still, its a shame to see such a 'charismatic' player leave (although I don't think he will just yet :p )

The couple of posts after nyara's is exactly what she's getting at.

Sometimes I read these boards and I think "Fuck me, why am I playing this game infested with tossers!" then I remember that not everyone on daoc is a complete twat.

Thank god.

People's attitudes (In general) on these boards are complete shite.

Oh, Chesnor, you don't appear to realise that right from the start Karam was making his posts in a pisstaking sense. From the start of his polearms rule posts, to the nerf skalds shit. For someone who pretends to have intelligence you sure do sound like a muppet sometimes.
All his posts have been designed to piss people off, and be a bit tongue in cheek.

Wow, oh look, it worked. Throw another line, let's reel some more suckers in.

So IsraelCF and Nyara buy Karams post ironic 'i'm just a wind up merchant, honest' line then. This is rubbish. Karam was never a sophisticated troll, far from it. He was a troll of the worst kind. His initial posts were serious 'polearms are the uber' threads. Sadly he learnt from the wrong end of a Firbolg spearo that this is not the case.

This is fundamentally why he's quitting. And please, don't carebear Karam. He doesn't need or deserve it.

Chesnor..

Do you know Karam?

Have you ever talked to Karam?

If so, have you talked to him regually? Do you really know what he's like? Have you talked to him off DAoC? Do you know him in real life?

No.

I don't buy anything - I know for a fact he was pissing around right from the start. He told me he was going to post like this. He said he was doing to to invoke a deliberate reaction.

You don't know what the hell you're talking about, mate. Think before you type next time. Use those vaunted braincells you imply you possess.

Now I didn't really read the entire thread but AFAIK it goes a bit like this :

1) Karam makes deliberatly a thread to provoke a particular reaction.
2) Ppl react this way (obviously).
3) IsrafaelFC calls those who react that way "tossers" and ridicules their stupidity.

People's attitudes (In general) on these boards are complete shite.

Aye, that's the single point I have to agree with you Israfael - but I'm afraid we have different ppl in mind *cough*.

You harvest what you sow ...

Heh.

I just can't believe how eaily people fell for it - continued to fall for it - and still DO fall for it. As chesnor put it so well, it's not like a lot of karam's posts seem serious.

What I'm objecting to is people's attitudes in general, to be honest.

Even after I told people karam was winding them up, they still didn't realise. Now if that wasn't being a wee bit dense I don't know what is.

I don't normally get into bitch-fests. It's just this thread and the general reactions have irritated me. Karam makes a half - serious post about being bored with the game - and how do most people react.

I suppose it was a bit stupid of me to think that people would realise it was a half serious post, I'm sorry, I apologise. I gave the benefit of the doubt where intelligence was concerned. I won't be doing that again.

Personally, I don't care if you decide to jab and poke at me, you're just proving my point. (Yes, I realise the irony in that I'm half joining in, it seems to be the only way to get your point across here)

Prof, it's not just this post I'm on about. It's all of Karam's threads.

(Oh, I don't care who you have in mind - cough all you want dear)

<slight edit to add more>

Heh... sad as it might be, but when I was younger Secret of Mana on the Super NES kept me going for SO SO LONG. I'd play it, then replay it, then replay it ad infinatum.

(I can't be bothered to keep on topic to be honest. I'm fed up of all this bitching shit. Before some bright spark proclaims that I'm giving up because I've been "owned" or whatever, I simply don't see the point in replying with another bitchy comment)

Munchausen Syndrome is an attention-seeking personality disorder which is more common than statistics suggest. Munchausen Syndrome, named after a German soldier renowned for exaggerated tales, is a predominantly female disorder in which an emotionally immature person with narcissistic tendencies, low self-esteem and a fragile ego has an overwhelming need to draw attention to himself/herself and to be the centre of attention.

Question is...is Karam female??? I think the rest fits rather closely ;)

pppppfffffffffffffff , so if karam does it on perpose , why should he worry about our attitude? He wanted to see this reaction ,did he not? , or he wouldnt have made the post.So seem to me that he got what he wanted.

And your right about trolls in general , most do it to get abit of a laugh of the reaction on the boards , but most of them are nice ingame or in rl , still why cant i give a troll back eh , if he doesnt take it serious anyway ?

I never said karam was bothered about your attitude. I said I was.

The thing I object to is the tone of a lot of the replies and comments made is just plain nasty, for want of a better word.

That's what I object to.

Something like your post, Elrohir, isn't too bad. It's some of the others I take exception to.

Secret of mana 2 was better as a game, really, but the original was always better in my mind. That said, you'd need an emulator for the English version of SoM2 (Seiken Densetsu 3, I believe the original name is).

Ok ok ok, let me try to get something worked out here...

Isreal who are you Karam's mother? I maybe getting the totaly wrong end of the stick, but, it seems you are here superseding what he says like his legal guardian... "Oh he was only winding you up" etc etc.
As for mid ownage <giggle>.
And I would like to say to Envenom, you are right!
Stealthing classes are a real biatch to level, but what fun!
I have a little SB in Thidranki by the name of Hefty, and ok his backstab etc aint too hot, but he has huge stealth and can see most of you poor ass steathers a mile away... That is great fun, sneaking up behind them as they think they're are safe... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Uh servers down and i'm bored.... So i'd just like to say, I spent a bit of time exploring each realm for a week or two before I commited to one and I found the following thingies;

Albion is full of some very poor and dare I say stupid ppl. Don't get me wrong some nice guys and good players too, it just seems everyone seems a little bit on the slow side...

Hiberbia is full of nice people, 90% where friendly and helpfull

Midgard is roughly 50% good, dedicated players and 50% assholes. Not sure where I fall there :) I dare say i'll get a few nasty replies to this, but come on, you know it's true!

Firstly, it's I S R A F A E L. Don't compare to some badly spelt foriegn country ;)

Secondly, yes, I am his mother.

His father was God, he is the new messiah. It was a virgin conception and birth.

All hail Karam the messiah!

UO sux now, i wouldnt even go as far as calling it uo anymore more like trammel or candyland. If you are leaving DAOC for UO now then you might wanna hold onto your daoc account cause UO is taking a nosedive in pvp.

What do u think is good about pvp in uo?? having played it for 4 years and selling my accounts, one 4 months ago 2 months ago i can say its got worse since then.

There are two distinct kinds of people that play DaoC. Individualists and team players. The individualist invariably doesnt stay the distance (I noted with amusement all the Middies who were seen for the first time in months last night with the advent of DF - most of them solo specialists from the early days). If you look at your realms you may find a lot of these are stealthers who prefer the lone wolf lifestyle in-game and to whom there is far less sense of genuine purpose (once you have maxed how many enemies can you kill solo before it gets boring? Thankfully CE's stealthers enjoy the team environment :)) than peeps who fight and die together every day. Team players have a far greater sense of belonging to something worthwhile and share a cameraderie which transcends the more boring aspects of the game. Or am I wrong?

Talking about old games we have played and loved...I am seriously dreading the launch of http://www.speedballarena.com/ (although it is still some time off) as it will be the ultimate online pure team-playing experience. If it is anywhere close to the original Speedball 2 it will probably lure me away from the rpg platform.
