I take you walk around unstealthed all the time then? If not, why bring up range. Even with MoS 5 against MoS 2 or 3 probably lucky if you get 2 shots of before an assassin is on you.

because it's called a ranger ;)

..I mentioned it because someone complained how an assassin with dotmine would outdamage them in melee.. (unless I remember it completly wrong).

Seems this nerf was brought to us directly from GoA.

Any clarifications from the GM's that any E&E is able to drag out of them?

All these ppl with their anti-stealther attitude are in need off a break imo. It's a bit sad if you need to go all hostile vs a class that is basically underpowered compared to the visual classes but can win due to the element off surprise...

understand why , but c'mon.

Let the people play their classes without telling them they are dicks for doing so as the grass always seems greener on the other side.

Says who? This is as mentioned a GoA only change. That means for all I know, they wanted to change something with the ability, but accidently introduced a bug on the ability.

Mind you, the US players can still use this ability in combat.

It still is insta cast but not during combat. Still its good fun to pop it in front of 3fgh as they meet the alb zerg then sit back and let the rps come in :) Or if your escaping from speed classes/WH or hunter/ranger SoS who are catching u , pop it and they loose their speed. Its great for cowardly solo infs such as myself who dont spec into vanish.

Would anyone consider assassins overpowered because of ToA? Anything that they were given in comparison to other classes that made them unstoppable killing machines? Hey even something that made them pve gods like other classes? Two ml abilities that were quite useful, mezz poison and insta cast dot. GoA off their own bat decide to nerf one with no explanation and now the class type that lost the most because of ToA/NF loses out yet again. Oh joy.

This pissed me off so much tonight I have RightNow'd it as a bug :>

Why the hell can GOA change a game-dynamic such as this that affects spymaster stealthers when I believe that the US version still has normal poisonspike?

Just how is an SB meant to kill an equal RR NS with remedy up without having to use battler2 or malice2 - which the NS's can also use?

It's just BULLSHIT.

I definitely lost RP tonight because of it, and with all the grouped up steamrolling gits out there, every damn RP is precious.

Bloody ridiculous.

Oh I see, my bad, I play the game for fun not to increase my 'precious' RP count at the expense of everything else.

The nerf was compeltely justified. Having an instant cast 500 dmg spell on a 5 min timer and no penalty was completely stupid. To be honest I think they didn't go far enough. Give back the 10 sec disarm like the old days.

I don't care what you think is balanced or justified Ethild. What I care about is, that GoA seems able and willing to perform class balance on their own now.

Unless this change is on Pendragon soon, we can only conclude that GoA have started to balance Dark Age of Camelot on their own.

The logical conclusion would thus be to create TL positions in the same manner Mythic currently does. Next step would then be a proper test server so we can actually test changes. Finally we would want TL reports and feedback on those.

Is GoA ready for this, or was this just a fluke that results in one of two solutions:
1) The same goes live in US
2) GoA reverses the "fix"

i completely agree with goa rapid-patching various bugs found on usa servers - like MW epic mob bashing or Beliathan plat pharmage...but making changes to code which are NOT implemented on USA is total crap.

Turn in back GOA.

I also play the game for "fun", but at the end of the day - you play for RP - everyone does. There is a natural end game, and if at the end of the evening after 5 hours playing you've made 0 RP, what was the point in logging in?

The nerf was exactly that, another assassin nerf, and I cannot understand why this has been implemented on the Euro Servers if we are meant to be following the US Servers? The damage helped us in fights, especially against Nightshades and their Remedy, and also against Tanks and to interrupt casters.

Since when can GOA change the game? If so, why not make Shadowblades PA's hit harder? Why not lower number of brittle guards? Why not but remedy on a 10 minute timer? Why not lower AE Mezz essence flare timer?

The hot fix in the US I believe was to stop people casting tanglesnare AND poisonspike at the same time. This is not what GOA have done.

Well if you dont like it go to the US then... but to be honest the people that make the code changes are mythic. GoA do not have the authority to do such changes. You should know this as GoA have to wait for MYTHIC to code the patches for them.

Well from US Boards, they still seem to have the poisonspike enabled in combat. (They are on 1.81?)

But the fix looks like it has gone wrong?

I think all the people affected by this change (people with spymaster) should rightnow GOA as why have we got a different set of playing rules from the US?

No point going to US as this change is going to happen on the US servers (unless GoA is lying, which I don't think they are).

It appears GoA have just been early on the triggers and implemented a change we can assume to hit the US servers in 1.81.

So to summarize the situation, it's merely a matter of misunderstanding caused by lack of information. It had not been revealed by Mythic this change would occur and thus it seemed as if it was a GoA only change. GoA claims though, that it will happen on US servers, so watch out for the 1.81 patch notes to see it there. :)

And yes, expect alot of angry feedback to make Mythic reconsider nerfing an already weak segment of the characters: The Stealthers. The correct way to express those are towards Mythic though, not GoA.
