Caught Continuum on SyFy the other night. Apart from having Lexahhhhh Doig (which instantly makes it worth watching IMO), I thought it was a promising start to the series. The word is it's already got a second season so that's good.

Last Resort started last night.

500 feet beneath the ocean's surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receives their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they're told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan. When the Captain refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Captain Chaplin and First Officer Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.

It was a good pilot and has a lot of potential I really liked it.

Yeap can vouch for continuum too, and on the other side of that particular fence; watched elementary and it seemed ok enough. Fans of classic holmes will have plenty of things to whine about though.

Saw the first episode of Arrow(based on green arrow) and it did receive plus points for characters and the somewhat accurate backstory/portrayal of Oliver Queen. Will have to see where it goes, but it does remind me of smallville.

Anyone been watching The Thick of It (SE04)?

Another side of Malcolm Tucker. A real devious cunt. Lacking power & the PM's ear, he's turned into a right schemer. Not as good as series 3, not as funny. The script is lacking its previous razor-sharp bile.

But like most things, when you bring back a show after a 4 year hiatus and change it around, its going to get a mixed reception.

Contains spoilers

I watched the first one on TV - thought it was very cheesey, but then again, it is action heroes!

Superheroes sir, superheroes.

G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., He-man = action heroes.
Green Arrow, Batman, Aquaman = superheroes.

Nerdy moment of the day :D

:( How can Batman be a superhero without having superpowers? *popcorn*

Am having issues actually finishing an episode of Arrow, I know I should like it but I can't.

Same here. But then he is a dull character. I didn't really like him in smallville (different actor I know)

I'd like to see someone make a villain film, where you start to sympathise with the villains, rather than the super heroes, say Breaking Bad or Sopranos of the super-hero world!

Arrow gets better, ep 3 is the best ep so far.

Obviously the first 2 eps were more about him returning and associated bs.

I know what i don't like about Arrow and it is the way everything stops and he gets the vacant stare and we hear narration. I am interested in the back story but I would rather we had a few episodes explaining that before he comes home rather than flashbacks.

Its a bit...thin. So far there's been literally nothing I wasn't aware of already. Well presented though.

Elementary. Proof that Americans should be allowed with 5000 miles of British culture.

If you think that's thin then you should check out "The British" on sky. It spends an hour explaining 500 years of history but barely mentions anything.

But anyway, they aren't going to be coming up with previously unknown bits of history. The BBC have covered world history very well in it.
