Watched X-Men Apocalypse last night; boring, incoherent crap, avoid. Shame because I actually enjoyed First Class and Days of Future Past.

Star Trek: Beyond.

Loved it. I quite like the darker more actiony style.

Liked it too. A bit simple but much more 'star trek' than the other two...

Yeah it's a pretty good film, the opening bits in Greece are very tense. It just isn't quite as good as the others.

I do agree. It does miss that charm the (especially) first but also second movie had. It's intense that's for sure, but, the fact that it's so intense they have to change frame every 2 seconds can be annoying at times - This might be the very opposite movie to John Woo's Hard Boiled.

Oh John Woo, how i miss thee.

Sausage Party. As a critique on organised religion; 3/5. As an excuse for a load of not-very-good knob gags; 1/5.

I watched about 15 minutes before turning it off. I never thought I'd get bored of hearing the word 'fuck' but this film did it in just over 14 minutes and 26 seconds. I found the humour in Wall-E to be an order of magnitude more intellectual and that was without the utterance of a single word.

Ok so it wasn't marketed as intellectual in anyway but - for fuck's sake - at least put some effort into your jokes. It felt like an excuse to have a bunch of animated characters swear in order to be a bit edgy.

I agree, the rips into organised religion was good, but the whole song thing at the start just highlighted what the film was going to be about.

It would have been better if it was done in a less overt fashion to be honest.
