Showcase De Lux is a marvel. 'Leather' recliners mean I never use my free Cineworld unlimited pass.

Also..Will be checking out Arrival this weekend.

Also 2 ..Missus dragged me to A Street Cat named Bob last weekend. It wasn't shit. But it did feel like a 1.5 hour YouTube video of a cat and a bad actor.

Arrival was great, and for once a film where it actually makes you think during and after the film

Would I make her choice? I found even having to think about it horrifying

Only because: parent. I gave it about 5 seconds, went 'oooh nasty' then went to the pub ;)

But yep, good film. Really good.

Been re-watching Where eagles dare (1968). Can't ask for a better sneaky-style infiltration war-type movie.

I haven't fallen asleep watching it (I'm not old :) ) but I've lost interest on two occasions and been unable to finish it. I usually watch films on the computer so they have to do well to keep my attention otherwise I'm out of full screen and doing something else while it's playing.

I want Daredevil in the background as he swings across the rooftops.

OK trailer, but other than added Iron-Man did it feel that different from all the other Spidey movies from the last 15 years? GoTG II feels fresher.

I guess we're just waiting for the Thor:Ragnarok trailer now for the full 2017 set?

Tried to watch the Point Break remake the other day.

Don't, just don't. It is fucking awful, and should be killed with fire.

I actually threw up in my mouth a little bit when I found out they were remaking Point Break. The original is such a good film, and still utterly watchable to this day. There was just no need for them to do it.

Then I just recently saw that they've remade Ben Hur and I died a little more on the inside. I know 1959 Ben Hur was already the third film version, but there was still no need to try to recreate what is and always will be a classic film. I read that the 2016 one wasn't so much a remake as a retelling of the original story but still.

I can't think of a single remake* in the last 10 years that's been good. Not "an improvement over the original", just actually "not a shit movie". *edit" - One. True Grit. That's it.

(*not talking about franchises like comic movies; they're not remakes).

It's even worse if you watch the film itself. Somehow, they have found someone even more wooden than Keanu to play Johnny Utah.

I mean it's already been remade once and called The Fast and the Furious, there was absolutely no need to do it again. Especially, as you say, considering how awesome the original was - and how awesome one the main character's name was :) - and how you can still watch it and enjoy to this day.

Ok .. True Grit was very good (except for the fact Jeff Bridges insists on talking like he's fellating someone)

I can think of 2 others though...

13 Assassins (thought was brilliant)
The Departed (may not be better but definitely wasn't shit).

True Grit was leagues ahead of the original.

Talking 2016/17 Sanchez vs 2015/16 Ivanovic in a 1v1
