I do agree. It does miss that charm the (especially) first but also second movie had. It's intense that's for sure, but, the fact that it's so intense they have to change frame every 2 seconds can be annoying at times - This might be the very opposite movie to John Woo's Hard Boiled.

Oh John Woo, how i miss thee.

There are about a dozen better scenes in "The Raid" & the follow on movie, example below:

I, Daniel Blake.
One of those films worth watching communally. Lots of laughs and tears from the audience.

As right wing ad I am, I have been the dole , trying to get them to pay my NI while I was training for a new job.
This is exactly as it is, just utter..utter disinterest and incompetence.
They never actually put a penny in any account after 20+ visits and endless calls.

This Korean classroom comedy has no eng subs and does feature an awful lot gorgeous girls in next to nothing...clicks link straight away...but it so easy to follow the basic story of geeky boy loves girl, but with endless crazy Korean/Jap batshit weird thrown in..the girls are frickin super hot.
NSFW obviously and you have to sign into google to watch, but no actual nudity..but all the better for it.
The teacher boob bouncing scene is just pure dirt.

Flying back from far east this week and watched The Inflitrator It had the potential to be a really decent gritty edge of the seat drama. It was as disappointing as Bryan Cranstons fake hair

The ending just seemed to be very rushed even though it may have been a true account of what happened.

Not very good

Just watched "True Memoirs of an International Assassin" on Netflix.

Was quite entertaining. A park your brain and munch popcorn type film though.

Just watched Arrival. What a great film, exactly how science fiction ought to be. Well worth a watch.

Wanted to go see that @Tom but got dragged to Doctor Strange instead.

Was OK I guess. Just Marvel is wearing thin...

Definitely go and see it. It's a really good story and will have you puzzling for most of it.

I watched it yesterday and I'm struggling to think of a better film I've seen this year. Great photography and eerie soundtrack.

Saw Strange last week and Arrival this evening, enjoyed both. In very different ways admittedly, but I certainly don't feel my £6.50 was wasted on either of them.

It's the loyalty card price for Sunday-Tuesday.
Usual prices are:
Standard - £8.80
3D (with glasses) - £10.80 (£12.30)
XPlus (A budget IMax thing I think) - £11.30

Children are about £2 off them and OAPs/Students are about £1.50 off.
No idea about the price of the snacks, I don't get any.

There's a cinema in town which is £4 (£3 student), any film, any time. But parking's a bitch so I go to the one above.

How does that compare to you lot then?

Its about £9 here, I don't wish to pay for other people to ruin my film watching so don't bother with the cinema except for unusual circumstances and the film demands a big screen.

I don't bother with the cinema, I just wait til I'm on a long haul flight and watch them, heavily edited on a 5 inch screen on the back of someone's seat....

I not been to the cinema since the release of the crystal skull indy film years ago.

Prefer to watch without the public in comfort and my own surround sound setup.

Cost me just under £20 to see Arrival. That did it include £3 upgrade for posh seat (worth for extra leg room) and 75p online booking fee (utter rip off, bastards).
