My mum could beat John Wayne in true Grit. Most wooden actor ever.

Might I also add, my mum has a subscription to County Living magazine. (I know because I renew it for her every year)

Relevance?

I love john wayne. Great western films. Different time. Different capabilities etc but wont go back on my old man who used to love a western.

If anyone hasn't yet seen the remake of Point Break I can save you ~100 minutes. Don't bother.

I'll probably watch it next Monday morning when everyone's at work or in bed. I suggest we start a thread for it, so people don't suffer spoilers.

Tickets booked for Friday morning. Always a good time to go here as the Arabs won't be up in time. So no brats running around screaming and half the cinema on phones.

Bloody hell that's impressive. You made it to the end? As soon as I got to the half hour underwater diving bit with no oxygen I switched off.

Bunch of arse.

Rogue One - long time since a Star Wars movie has kept me gripped from start to finish. About 33 years in fact.

Really? I was very underwhelmed. In fact I nearly fell asleep at one point.

Hmmm. I thought it was reasonably good until it got towards the end when it got very good.

I liked the grittier, dirtier look. Much more like Ep4. Less shiny-CGI-everything.

I liked the fact there were no light-sabre battles. Especially not the 20-minute bore-fest at the end of Episode (fucking) 3.

I liked the fact that the brief Vader appearances made him proper bad-ass again. No emo crap. Also the fact that they didn't insist on the whole universe revolving around him like in the shitty prequels. He's just a bad-ass who gets shit done.

In all it's sort of Episode 4 meets the Seven Samurai.

rogue one was awesome yes im a massive star wars fanboi. the look and feel of the film made it feel just like the originals. the cgi that was used was absolutely mind blowing the story was ace! yes we know how its going to end but getting there is one hell of a ride not one annoying char in it either which was a bonus. loved the droid possibly my new favourite! a few minor flaws that i think only a fan would pick up on but nothing worthy of mentioning. def give it a solid 9/10
