Great race, 2 more retirements and the manors would have snuck into the points!

It's almost a shame the rain came though, would've been very interesting to see if rosberg could've bettered 4th.

Also williams strategy guys need firing, consistently shit.
If bottas is sent past massa early and can get even 2 seconds in front, he stays ahead of lewis after the pitstops and is fighting for the win, and would even drag massa further up because of drs.

Not letting Bottas past Massa in the early stages - fail
Not covering Hamiltons first pit stop - fail

Williams utterly fucked up, they had a very good chance at a podium at the very least.
Can't stand Hamilton, find him insincere and petulant. He also seems to be turning into some sort of hoodrat/pimp. Love the way that Rosberg always talks to the other drivers in the ready room in their native tongue, leaving Hamilton clueless to the conversation. Hamilton seems as popular as hemorrhoids with nearly all the drivers.

Rosberg speaks German to Vettel because, wait for it, they're both German (and they've been in that room together 6 times from 9 races this season). And he was speaking English with Massa after Austria so not quite sure what your point is.

I get that people dislike Hamilton and everybody is entitled to their opinion but what you just said comes across as petulant jealousy tbh.

Hamilton is apparently a pretty nice bloke irl (my brother inlaw works for Mercedes) and is always great with the kids at the family days but then so is Rosberg.

This is worth a read.

In public, he is every bit the megastar. He has his own private jet, lives in Monaco and LA with his popstar girlfriend. He can call Will Smith when he’s in town to have dinner with the Fresh Prince.

We laughed about this earlier in the year. About the insanity of life, where the sport had taken him and what lay before him in his career and his ultimate destiny. It wasn’t real. He knew that. And because of it, he wanted to make the most of it all. Because beyond everything that you see, beyond the big pimpin, diamante encrusted bling wearing magazine cover star lies that very same kid I first met at a cold and windy Ricard, surrounded by his family. When I sat down to interview him last in a one-on-one situation in Hockenheim, his first question was not for me, my crew, what we were filming or why… it was for Sophie, my daughter; how she was doing, how old she was now, how school was going and his own desire for a family one day.

That’s the man he is. Thoughtful. Sincere. Genuine.

Those who choose to paint a picture of an artificial or conceited character do not see this side of Lewis Hamilton. They don’t see him out the front of the garage on pitlane walkabout, talking and actually listening to his fans. When he turned up in New York for a two minute appearance on the Today Show, he arrived two hours early and spent every spare moment engaged with his fans. Just as he had done that GP2 weekend at Silverstone.

Jeez sensitive much? Jealous of what?

FYI Massa and Rosberg were talking to each other in Italian in Austria. Can't find any legit video but scroll down to 14:40 here.

Not really sensitive about anything, I just don't see any of the things that you do in him. I thought he was a bit of a dick sometimes a few years ago at McLaren but he's really levelled out at Merc and seems like an all-round nice guy. I think it's pretty much common knowledge that him and Rosberg don't get on so your languages point is pretty much moot. Rosberg loves showing off his language skills but I don't see that that translates to Hamilton being "as popular as hemorrhoids with nearly all the drivers".

OK, you like him I don't, don't see the problem there.
My language point is that Rosberg distances himself, as do the drivers talking to Rosberg. Massa chose to speak in Italian with Rosberg, not English or his native Portuguese.
Look back at all the ready room footage, Hamilton is nearly always left out of the conversation, regardless of who is in there with him and what place he has finished in. Ergo not popular with the drivers.

He like most top sports people are prone to having the odd hissy when it isn't going their way.

The only thing I dislike about him and many sports stars is the natural tendency to wave the flag while not paying any tax to the system that supports the country that is the basis of that flag.

What makes me laugh is people who say they hate hamilton because he's a dick, generally really like schumi/alonso/vettel, who you can all demonstrably prove are much bigger dickheads.
Or cue them calling hamilton a bad loser because he occasionally displays emotion, yet they cheer on the eternally petulant andy murray.

I mean it's almost like theres some sort of other agenda going on.

I dislike Hamilton, Vettel and Schumi!

And OMG we must have someone who can sing the National Anthem without trying to be Beyoncé ( who I also dislike). And couldn't someone have told her the bloody words?

My nieces are hyped at the moment, they met Rosberg, Hamilton and Stirling Moss the other day. Hamilton spent a couple of hours helping look after the staff kids at their summer family day. My 6 year old niece is telling everyone that Hamilton called her Cute.

Top bloke as far as I am concerned.

A friend took part in the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon yesterday and said Button could not have been more of a gent (as expected really, he seems like a class act).

I did see that Hamilton got turned away from the Royal box at Wimbledon yesterday for not wearing a tie - that will give the anti-Lewis bandwagon something to circlejerk about.

Damn shame, RIP. Although his dad did say earlier in the week that he was less optimistic about Jules recovering, I wasn't expecting this. :(

Not good. Dreadful for the family. But can't help feeling it's better than being like Schumacher.

I'm being obtuse but who's the second death?

Oh not this year I guess :(

Maria de Villota died of the injuries from her crash though, but it was ~14-15 months ago.
I think it's because the report into her death was published this year, I got it a bit confused.

Ah yeah the test driver. She died twelve months or so after she recovered from her crash.
