It's legal, if the testing is flawed, that is not redbull or ferraris problem. the other teams obviously have not been on the ball, or they too would be pushing the rules to the limit.

Look at the tires.

The tyres are moving but that is nothing new. The front wing is not on suspension, unlike the front wheels. The front wing is flexing in comparison to the nose cone (it is mounted to the nose cone, so the only explanation is that it is flexing).

As said, rules are being bent every which way but loose. Ferrari add it to their cars and look at their pace over the last couple of races. So yup, any team worth their salt will be adding it after the break.

For a change. Good to see Barrichello get the upper hand, one driver I've always liked for his humanity and sportsmanship.

Thought the change in hight came from the tires, but you're right. They do flex when you compaire it to the nose.

Watching the race and qualifying this weekend proves it further, not only do they flex like mad, they lean rather cleverly into corners, effectively keeping a flat and consistent airflow over the tyres and to the rear of the car. Damn clever stuff.

But have to wait and see now, the FIA have now tightened their lax testing methods and the wings will be re-tested before Spa. Currently they're only putting a certain amount of load on the front wings, and the cars actually exceed that load by 4-5 times on track, so it doesn't take much for the average F1 genius to knock something together to work around such a loophole.

Meaning 1 of 2 things will happen. FIA will declare them rightly illegal and ban them from the rest of the season, levelling the field somewhat and making for a very interesting back half to the season, or they will declare them illegal only as from next season, leaving the competitors inc. McLaren to knock up their own version and play catchup themselves.

Either way it's looking to be a humdinger of a season finale.

He didn't apologise for the move - he apologised if Rubens felt like he was in danger.

ie sorry you're shit and suck but if you felt bad.. well sorry bout that.

It seems akin to shooting at someone, just missing them, then apologising if it was scary. At least if gives us something to talk about. F1 needs some drama.

Drivers salaries have been released (at least, 24 of them have) and to be honest, I'm quite shocked at how little some of them are being paid. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for them; it's still bloody good money, I just expected the figures to be a lot higher.

Only 3 paid over 10million EUROS, 11 under 1 million...poor Karun Chandhok only gets 100k. Considering how specialist the sport is and how many millions are spent every year, this does show how badly the recession has hit the teams; either that or I just thought wrongly all these years, heh. Both Force India drivers below 1 million? Vettel at 2 million is the biggest surprise of the list I guess... I don't think that'll be so low for too long if Red Bull want to keep him. :p

Fernando Alonso, en la 'pole' de los mejor pagados - MARCA.com

I know the link isn't english but really, figures + names aren't effected. :D

Chandhoks/etcs are low because in essence they pay the teams - the drivers come with sponsorship that goes to the team - apparently he didn't deliver the sponsors he was meant to which is why he's been cut.

It's actually a lot more common in japanese/american racing - F1s upper echelons seem to buck the trend.

It's quite a comical list because it doesn't account for bonuses which accounts for the majority of the red bull drivers salary for example. And yes, you can expect certainly the bottom quarter to be bringing more to the team than they take.

Figures seem a tad different.

Think that's down to euro-pound exchange rate.

Of coruse they will earn a certain amount more through other ventures but as for advertising, I would have thought it was in their contracts to only do advertising on behalf of the team.

Well - back on track again at last. Final practice seems to have been close, but it's hard to tell how much the weather has affected teams' efforts. I'm looking forward to qualifying and the race with the weather reportedly changeable it could be very lively :)

maybe someone should remind Sebastian Vettel he's driving an F1 car and not a bumper car?

I loved the way all the mclaren mechanics came out into the pit lane and glared at him when he came into the pits.

the guys needs to stop taking so many risks, he's already lost button and webber points this season (as well as himself of course)

autosport.com - F1 News: Video: a lap of Korea with Chandhok

My word does the korean track still need a lot done before their final inspection, heh. It does look like another Tilke track sadly and although there are poissibly three overtaking places (I think), they're all one after the other. I'm not going to hold my breath for this track. :(

The US layout does look fantastic though! :D

Mmm it's annoying that nothing is being done, if not for the act itself then for the blatant way in which it was executed.
