So I've taken your advice and tried out the eHarmony site. It's a ball ache to set up, loads of questions and I couldn't find a place to put in my awesome intro. They're having a free messaging weekend and I received a message from Amy listing 5 pre made by the website questions with a, b, c , d answers. I answered her ones and sent her some of my own, to which she has now replied and I list them for your review(with spoilers as to my own views):

1. Which of the following indoor activities sounds like the most fun to you?
A) Cooking
B) Shopping

Now this is not the worst answer she could have given here, but it isn't my first choice. She likes watching videos and thinks it is fun and I agree videos are fun. But what would happen if when we're watching videos I suddenly have a grumbly feeling in my belly and require sustenance? She doesn't think cooking is fun. I would die of hunger at this point.

2. Your idea of adventure is:

I'm adventurous, athletic and a pet owner. I like bike riding, running and I've done some snowboarding in New Zealand, would love to do more. I also walk my two Jugs, Naughty and Noodle they are lovely little dogs and would like to meet you! I aspire to be a home owner with my own business eventually. I'm a happy person who enjoys making other people laugh and have a good time, what makes me unique is probably my sense of humour. I have a really varied taste in music, generally I don't pay attention to the politics/fashion, etc but instead if it's a good tune, I'll listen to it! One of my favourites is Kings of Leon.

I think it all sounds too staged and fake. I know you want to sound funny etc but I think it gives the impression you are just doing this for a quick laugh and not serious about dating anyone.

...anyway, my mum and step dad met via an agency back in the late 80s, still together now...

Anyway, if you are serious about it then you ought to be honest, the joke profile probably isn't the way to go really (imo) it comes across as trying to be whacky but in a Timmy Mallet kind of way.

Make a serious profile and scatter gun it a bit, you can vet the women just as much as they vet you. E-harmony looks like a good bet, I think at my age if I was single I would have no problem at all using something like that.

What's good about the Siberian railway is how it gives the woman a hook to work with.
Writing to complete strangers is always hard, so those hook points give her something to work with.
