I don't think any club wants a player that at just 17 refuses to turn up to training to manufacture a transfer because "he is home sick" then picks a transfer to a different country all together.

Although it is likely going to be agent shenanigans, I imagine.

True, his behaviour wasn't great. He was offered a new contract with City and turned them down so they left him off of their US tour in preseason and he basically just went back to London and stayed there. I still don't understand how being from London and homesick will be cured in a different country. It's a pity, him and Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham were supposed to be 2 of our signings for most of the last week of the window. Sancho will be worth stupid money in a couple of years (assuming he doesn't do a Ravel Morrison).

As for Arsenal, Lacazette is great and Kolasinic looks decent as well. They've signed no one apart from that though - Lemar (apparently) refused to go to them because he wanted Champions League. He deserves it too, he was brilliant for France last night. On top of that Koscielny is (apparently) out for 2 months after an injury in last night's match against the Netherlands when their squad is already paper thin (and half of them - including Ozil and Sanchez - will probably be leaving on frees next Summer) and you can understand the fans' fury.

...aaaand Uefa will say they are very bad people and should be very sorry. restrict their Euro squad to 22 players, , ban transfers for 1 season, or half, whatever.

Then nothing. Completely toothless.

It should be a 2 year complete ban from European competitions. 5 year ban on second offence. Only then would clubs follow the rules.

Ross Barkley's deadline day U-turn hasn't changed anything - expect his price

If true, Grade A c*nt. Coming through the ranks only to kick dirt in the clubs eyes - I would love to know why he seems to harbour such an intent hatred against the club he grew up at. The fans? Meh, if any players performance drops below standard they may be critical. Koeman? Biggest possibility - He was critical against Barkley and rather than taking it on the chin it seems he didn't like it.

This whole issue is reminding me of the Dan Gosling situation years ago, when Gosling gave his promises that he would sign only to renege at the very last moments which allowed Newcastle to take him on a free, so we lost out on about £5-10m. We have been chasing up on Barkley for several months though, likely to avoid that same situation. Barkleys lack of commitment/clarity plus Everton's stance on selling him for a high premium have bit us hard...

However, for Everton to have had the chance to sell him to Chelsea for £30m, only again, for Barkley to pull out hours before the window closes means we're fucked again. However this stinks of Barkley sticking to Everton and the faithful, why would he? He is injured, likely for a month. He could have very easily signed for Chelsea and recuperated. Instead, he declined which means Everton (and not Chelsea) will continue to pay his wages and getting him recovered. Absolute stink of a taste in my mouth.

If this is his intention, fuck him. Give him minimal training, zero gametime, zero under-23 gametime and keep him at the club for the run of the contract. If he goes to another team to train, fine him and report him/club. If we're losing out on £20-30m might as well treat him the same as he's treated Everton.

He's supposedly out until at least November, which is why Spurs cooled their interest until the January window. There was also supposedly a phone call from one of our lot which prompted him to back out of the Chelsea move. I don't know how much truth there is in that but we'll see what happens in January I guess. I heard the new Everton owner on the phone Sky Sports News on deadline day and he said that he didn't think Barkley would even get in the squad so maybe there has been a falling out.

Abu Dhabi United, who own City, is owned by the Royal family who derive their wealth from the state - I.e. State aid via a shell company.

It's not even opaque - it's transparent.

Tbh - Chelski should fall foul of those rules too, (at least morally), but abramovich's wealth isn't exactly state aid - rather than wealth 'appropriated' from a state.

So Real Madrid and Barca getting state aid in the form of tax breaks and debt write offs is fine then?

Edit, I am not saying Man-City have a fair sponsorship deal in place, obviously they don't but most of the big money being spanked on players is from the TV deal.

Maybe if the Spanish league wasn't designed to just have 2 top clubs and so agonisingly dull, it would be attractive to TV audiences and pull in a decent TV deal.

They started it anyway, the silly deals started with the likes of the Bale and Ronaldo deals. Now they have lost the pace they are getting pissy about it.

No it's not OK, and a lot of people have pointed out it's not OK, to the extent that Madrid have been fined over the issue in the past.

Yet, the fine was nowhere near the value of the benefit to Real. Top of my head, wasn't it a 60 mil fine for 600mil of debt write off?

Well they did.

They are complaining because someone has done something that they have done, and still do.

Which is fucking dumb.

Why would anyone want Coutinho when Eriksen is playing like he is at the moment. Absolutely killed Poland and today he scored a beauty of a freekick

Former Copenhagen player. Everton were keen on him, but Werder Bremen ended up getting him.

He is the midfield captain any team needs. He tackles, reads the game, is a great header despite his height, has great runs into the box, good passing both short and long and now he has started scoring as well.

I doubt he will stay in Germany for long, or at least Werder

Here are his goals for Copenhagen
